Some of the cheaper places limit you on the number of passes you can make in the hour, each additional run is extra etc..

i recently went to gruppe s in fremont and they charged me 70 an hr for my single FD
should rage between 70-200 hr

$350 for tuning, $150 for flat rate dyno time no matter how long it takes, $200 to do a basic check up on your car including engine compression test.
Or you can just pay $350 for tuning and $75 an hour to the dyno place. Without basic check up on your car, no one is going to be responsible if anything happens on the dyno because your car is not within spec.

So far,
$200 for a botched tune, (Engine survived, tune got erased).
$100 for a shitty tune, where AFR's are 10-11 everywhere even during idle...
$550 for steve to do it @ the end of the month.
Learning that, it pays to do it right, without blowing a motor, Priceless !

There is a new place in santa Rosa. They have a Mustang dyno brand new. I'll be tuning there with Guitar Junkie (Dave Sagella) next Saturday. Shops been there 4 years, but they just recently purchased the dyno. I'll post how it goes
^ I tried to get a group dyno tuning day a while back with Dave but no one's cars were ready. I may be up to tune with you. Just need to wait for my turbo to get back from being rebuilt and waiting on injectors.

Yea sure I'll start a new thread to see how many people are interested. I'm not barring anybody from joining in but I'm guessing time/space will be limited.
Here's a link to the thread.

Good idea. As an FYI, I just e-mailed Dave about doing it at the end of May, but I have no idea if that's going to happen yet since I haven't gotten a reply. if we turn this into a group thing, we need to figure out how many cars he can do in a day and if he's even interested in doing a group thing...
