What ever happened to the "Hang over run" every Jan 1st? I was told that they are rebuilding the Ortega Highway, but i was just there a few weeks ago and saw that the roads were not being serviced what so ever?

 

Im interested if they have one.

I don't know the route, 1/3 of us got lost the time I went in the wineries. Ever seen a cartoon where people are coming in and out of rooms down the long hallway? Picture a lot of 7s driving up and down hilly roads with vines all over the place.

 

With or with out the Miata crew and there leader Wacky the pole man, whos interested on heading out there for a cruz and BBQ at the elsinore park itself?

Why don't you nice people come represent LA at the Monthly SD RX meet on the 2nd? There is a scheduled cruise after the meet as well.

 

Call it perhaps New Years Cars n Coffey Run. First Saturday of the year.

Staged at the Mazda HQ between 6-9AM. That way those that get there much before 9 can check out some or all of the Cars n Coffee show (example what to expect https://www.rx7club.com/west-rx-7-forum-193/cars-coffee-11-07-09-feat-versace-edition-murcielago-lp640-mclaren-slr-land-spe-872627/ ) then launch from there. Plenty of parking in the parking lot where we otherwise stage for 7Stock.

From there, down the 5 to Ortega Hwy, Ortega Hwy to Lake Elsinore where the HOR gathered for a cruise stop n show n tell. Then simply to the mall for lunch as a conclusion.

I nominate Meiogirl to captain this cause.

However, if the San Diego RX meet cruise as planned is to Julien for pie..............................

 

That'd be cool to meet up at cars n coffee then head down to Ortega Hwy, theres a Jan 2nd trip planned for Julian? What time are the SD guys meeting?

MDpalmer and I were also planning on the Jan 10th drive in San Diego, taking an EARLY Ortega to the 15 cruise to meet up in Escondido at 9:30 am. If anybody is interested in caravaning down to that one post in that thread here:

I have not idea what the itinerary for the SD meet and cruise. Just my wishful thinking. Never been to Julien, but heard it's all about the Pie. I like pie.

 

This sounds cool being that i live at the bottom of the ortegas in Elsinore

 

lets do this then... meetup at cars n coffee and take off to Ortega at 9:30? We have at least 3 of us, if 10yearrx7 is in that's four. Ive gone a cruise with 3 before it was still fun.
I'll check into a loop route back to the OC area, I know there are a lot of roads up there, getting lost and what not.
