i mean that most of the harness is connected. just a few things left. the harness on the motor is about a foot short to getting to the ecu, is there a way to extend it with out cutting and adding wire. sorry alittle hung over.

You need an ASpec TII harness to do the swap in a left hand drive. The JSpec harness is too short since it was designed for right hand drive. You see them occasionally on EBay. If you're doing a S5 swap, then good luck.

I do have a friend that has access to a new old stock S5 TII harness. By far the best way to go, but it's over the counter factory part expensive. New or used S4 TII harness, you need to make sure whether it's for low or high impedance. High impedance was pretty much a '88 thing on S4's. Low impedance is much more common (thus why I went with a low impedance set up when I did my swap) and I believe still available as new (and also over the counter expensive).

You certainly can extend the harness, but will be a tedious pita. You need to cut one wire at a time (it seems there are 50 of them, then solder and shrink tube jumper wires. I suggest you at least pull out the JSpec harness and compare it to your old stock harness to determine exactly how much you need to extend it by. Too long could create a problem as well.

yup s5 motor going into a 1990 gtu. i was hearing that the motor would drop"pretty easy" in but now i look at it im seeing every thing that is different. like the feul lines going into the motor n/a had two inlets and the turbo has three. is that third one a coolant inlet. and there were 4 plugs on the old harness and on the turbo harness theres three. and what the hell is firing order. i dont mind the all the hard work i just hope that this swap bring my car some desent power. like being able to get get onto the freeway atleast 90 mph
thank 4 the help.

your best bet is to get rid of that harness and find a ASPEC I know a guy who tried using the jspec by extending and that **** took forever and i dont know if he ever got it right. figure out the fuel lines thats cake . If you dont know what your doing try not to touch the vac lines cause thoose will stress you out

"like being able to get get onto the freeway atleast 90 mph"
you could have done that non turbo
your doing a turbo swap i hope your stressing for more than just 90 on the freeway.

i can probally get a wireharness for you

you could prob wait on the drive shaft and rear end if you kept your stock tranny and use that money to get the harness or even a standalone.

what are you doing for a fuel pump?

what year harness and motor are you using?

and arnt you JEFFs boy?
i told him that it was gana take a lot more and just swapping motors.
i live like 15min from temecula and ive done this before (learned to do standalone instead) but i can help you out the best i remember.

But if you want it done right its gana cost more $$$

fc3s91 has a new one available. Good source for such parts. Used S5 TII ASpec not very common.
