Heard of this?

So ive been doing some homework because I need a rebuilt for my t2. I found a place called specialized parts planet up in sac. they do it for about 2k. That sounds super cheap! Has anyone gone to these guys for a rebuild? I wonder how legit it is. They said they use new seals and even ceramic. IDK though.

If they put ceramic seal's into your T2 engine it'll pop pretty quick... The ceramic seals are for racing n/a's only IIRC.

That $2,000 is more labor than anything else if all you get is new gaskets, seals, and apex seals then it's a rip off. Especially if they said they would put ceramic seals into your T2 engine, that right there just show's they don't have a clue about what they are doing.

Never heard of that place nor seen it around anywhere out here.

Where did you find this information at?

the mazda dealer here in sf, royal motors told me about them. Cheap body parts though. I called and asked aboubt the moon roof. $100. I didnt think they were a good source for engines seeing as how the going rate is never less than 4k.

ya i know. Ive done the homework. they seem worth it though. They sound indistructible. so long as you dont detonate. Im not sure if im gonna actually put al lot of power into the engine. I would like to but I dont have that much cash. I would really like to get to about 400hp but I think I would be happy at just over 300.

Detonating will kill any apex seal. They are harder so they may be able to take a few detonations but ultimately you want to stay away from that.

Heh, your right I mixed them up with the carbon seals by accident

I'm not a fan of anything but factory seals so I never looked into the Ceramic or any of the other type's very much.

Ya for sure. Its nothing some good stand alone tuning cant prevent. Im thinking Haltech. Do you know what fuel injector size is good for up to 300hp+?
