i find it alot easier to spin out with the gas ones like Dromo 1 has. but K1 experiences were overall better than Dromo's. Track/reversing capability(D1 is like being at boomers.. waiting for someone to pull you)/ and better workers who arnt asses about everything.

if its a big enough group, rather than time attack runs. you might wanna do "GP event", which is pole position + practice + actual race. and you get a trophy/medals lol. dont know if they custom it... like "best of rx-7club 1/19/09"

the anaheim track is near Camlot golfland/ concourse bowling / fry's of anaheim
approx. 20miles? if that.. as long as its shorter than ucla->oc. its short to me

beware of the SMOG CHECK COPS though! i normally use a back entrance they always set up those smog stations on the main roads of La Palma randomly.

backroad =

from UCI 5N -> 57N -> exit lincoln ->make right off exit -> make left at rio vista(?) ->make left at end of the road (it's a big straight) ->make right at light(La palma) ->then right turn on white star street... or blue gum.. i forget.

2cute: You've been to the irvine K1 right? what kinds of times were you running?

Personally i suck and was running low to mid 24's and the fast lap of the week was 22.00.

been a long time. i dont recall honestly.

i usually go to carlsbad cuz its substantially closer to me house

the last few times ive gone however ive been severely disappointed. i use to go all the time when they first opened. and then didnt go for a while

it seems like they havent changed the tires on the karts since they opened the place. there is literally no way to get through a corner with the karts now without losing the back. i tried everything and im not the only one that noticed.

its funny cuz when we got out of the karts we were discussing it and the kid that worked there was like well real racecar driviers dont stay on the gas the whole track. i just shook my head and said something to the effect of thanks captain obvious

Jan. 18th Sunday, around noon.

I'm going to call K1 today and see if there is a group discount.

They have discounts, but its not really worth it. Its like 5 bucks less than normal and you get a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medal. And its more of a race "grand prix" style.

I think it would be better to just race, post times, then compare & contrast.

I'm interested...

Karts in general rule. Never tried K1 but I've been to Speedzone a couple times. Last time I was there it was $10 for all you could play arcade (the crappy games only) once you had the card you could add tracks for $10 per. I got slick track and the grand prix.

Had the fastest lap of the evening on grand prix by about 2.5 seconds. My last session was 40.10x, couldn't quite break into the 39s.

True. I'm afraid people might back out after seeing the cost. But since most of the people who have signed up has done this before, hopefully that wont be an issue. Plus I scheduled it a month away to give people the chance to save up some extra money.

Also, i know at least 3 of my (non-rx7)buddies will be joining the group, so if only a couple people from the club show up, we'll still have plenty of people for it to be fun.

lolz. yes $50 for three races with 14 laps each. Plus you need your kart license with is $6 ( ) But its a once a year fee. $6 per yer.

comes out to about $1 a lap.

Like i said, i spent about roughly 3 hours there and had a blast.

As for the "LS tards" So far its just me and Joel with our tractor motors. Race Car Driver Andrew is a lil scurred. Poor guy.

**Edit**
Also guys, you dont HAVE to do the $50 for three races. you can show up and do a $20 deal too.

Seems to me that "rotard" just rolls off the tongue so much smoother than "LS tard"...

your drive there and back will be 3x more than your drive on the karts lol. well worth it. Gran prix style records lap times too i think so you might want to re-check into it. OH another thing... if theres not enough people in the group... strangers with small groups will be added.. some of them are real a'holes who think its bumper cars

-------

i have a turbo s2k fanatic and miata guy who wants to come along. not sure on how flakey they are gonna be tho. but they've been on top 10 on this track before.. 32-33secs.. i dont come close at 34sec best lap. 35avg

When i went with my group, there were 4 of us, and they let us go by ourselves. Trust me, we wont be grouped with anyone else. (complete strangers) theres enough of us
