I just recently went to smog ref. If u dont have a carb number for that intake. U need to change it back. My setup is same thing as ur. U need to change everythin back to stock. The intercooler is not ok i have same intercooler. Also no turbo timer, boost gauge, boost control , pfc. I live in sf. N my fine was $2000

you changed all that stuff back and still got a 2k fine? WTF was the point then?
Also Intercoolers are accteptable but only for oem turbochargers.

Agreed but why make it easy on him. Under search and seizure laws they need your consent, doesn't mater if it's under your hood or in your car. They can do a "Saftey inspection" and not need your consent but they better do the 100+ point inspection, other wise they are profiling you.

well just like if you say no you cannont search the inside of your car they can impound. its like if they ask you to take a breathalizer test and you say no they take you to jail till they get a warrant.

It's a gamble if i say Yes he's already won the hand i pretty much just folded. If i say No at least i can see what his next card is going to be. Is it worth his time or not, i can always fold and pop my hood but might as well make him do some leg work first.

Edit: Again i'm in total agreement with it being more likely to get my car towed.

Yeah, it helps to be like me, flashy engine bays aren't my thing, I like the look of a stock bay. Hell even my custom air filter box I am making is going to involve the stock box cover lol

I'm actually kind of hoping that one will pull me over someday and ask me to pop my hood...

Everything under my hood looks brand new, totally custom (shiny blue anodized, with some parts red and yellow anodized), not a CARB sticker anywhere, and being the age it is it's probably completely incomprehensible to most... and every single piece of it is stock.

Good luck, Mr. officer; go ahead, write that ref ticket. See ya in court.

But then my car is probably too sedate-looking on the outside & quiet to attract their attention. & I'm probably too old.

But I can dream, right?

what exhaust do you run? I seem to get alot less attention once I switched to a rb dual, i never polish it when i clean my car either, just let all the grime build up on it so it almost doesnt even look stainless anymore.

One bad thing about rolling in imports, the cops keep a special eye on you.
