Just get a cop to write it off and send in a check for 10 bucks.

Ive been without a front plate for 2 years now haven't had a problem except after they pull me over they say " you need to have a front plate" I have it in the back so I can always tell them it just fell off today.

What a hassle...but the bay area is known for getting hassled for that little stuff. I chose to put a plate on so there is less of an excuse to get pulled over. Mine is dead center in the stock location, but need to move it due to my front mount. Might off center it with a relocator or something of that sort.

been driving in cali for 16 years and only within the last 2 years i have gotten 3 no front plate fix it tickets, 2 within 2 weeks of each other and i was driving respectfully each time. and the first one was in my truck.

my advice is if you get one just install it and leave it on if you live in cali because it just gives them a reason to find other things to cite you on on your car.

Yeah this fine is bigger for getting a second ticket for the same thing. Cops and court system figure he/she learned there lesson the first time. I still have that problem for not driving with a lis. and speeding in the seven hahahaha

haha... I've been through this so many times too!

Okay, heres the rundown, from my experience:

First of all, most cops don't care about front plates and they'll only really ticket you if you do something stupid.

License plates must be physically attached to the car. What I did is put suction cups on my front plate and mounted it onto the inside of the windshield. I asked a police officer about it and he looked at it and said it was good. I did this to write off a fix-it ticket, then I took it off again.

As far as the rear license plate goes, not only does it have to be mounted, but it must be visible at night, i.e. light up.

Everytime you get a fix-it ticket, it's always $10 if you get the ticket signed off. Even if you take off the plate and get another fix-it ticket, it'll still be $10, assuming you actually fixed it.
