Engine problem.

My engine won't turn. When I start the ignition the car just sounds like its sucking in air.. Nothing under the hood wants to move.

Its not flooded.
It was running fine a week ago.

Can anyone help me? Thanks!

First off, try the 3rd gen forum. Second, is the starter motor going? Third, when was the last time you changed your blinker fluid?

Can you guys put it into a description that a nooby can understand? Because.. first I don't know anything about the fluids, don't know what "cats aren't hollowed out" means.

And no the starter motor isn't going.

Its an FC by the way.

First, your screen name is misleading. Second, have you tried starting it with a fresh battery? Third, check your fuses. Fourth, google blinker fluid. I recommend Redline brand.

Check the fuses, then the battery, then the alternator, then the starter motor. If you don't know how to do these things, take it to a mechanic. If you haven't changed your blinker fluid in a while, you should do it. It'll make your blinkers brighter.

Lol make my blinkers brighter... :P

Battery terminals are melted.

Fuses, I don't know how to check if its okay or not. Even if I do check, what should I be checking for?

Starter Motor is fine, so says my dad.

Yea I'm talking about the belts. They don't move.

I was told to manually try to move the crank pully but.. not going to try that.

And no I don't smell gas when I try to turn it on.

Clean your battery terminals. If it's all crusted with white/blue/green stuff, just pour some coke on it (yes, cola will dissolve that crust).

If your dad knows how to check the starter motor, he knows how to check the fuses. Just check them to make sure that none of them are broken (the little metal strips you can see inside the clear plastic). If you don't know how to do any of that, seriously, take it to a mechanic before you mess anything up even more.

you can start by replacing your battery terminals. but I don't know if that would really be it. since your lights/radio is working fine.

Nope. I just left it for a week because I was over working and when I tried to turn it on, this happened.

You sure it's not the blinker fluid? Check the blinker dip stick. It's the one behind the steering wheel.

"I was told to manually try to move the crank pully but. not going to try that." Why not?

Well I think you better see if the motor can turn over by hand first. If the motor is locked up then no sense trying to start it.
