Emmissions Testing in Tucson??
Hey guys,
I'm moving to Tucson in Dec. When I left 20+ years ago, they had inspections on vehicles back to 1966. I need to know what they are like now. My FB is close(I have a cat on it, but it runs kinda rich if you know what I mean). How strict are they there?
THanks

Bill

When I left there, you had to do the smog checkin Tucson, Pheonix, larger cities. Out in the smaller cities like Sierra Vista, you didn't have to. Are the smog tests statewide or just in the cities?
Incidently, they used to have the sniffer test here in Florida. Then they realised that the coastal winds blow it all out to sea so the fishes and seagulls get it instead of us so they cancelled the program. Now they just impose a $150 +/- impact fee when you register a new tag... I knew it was a money scam from the beginning. I had a .060 over 327 in my 77 Camaro, and had to get grandfathered in so I didn't have to go through emmissions. When I took the engine out of the Camaro and stuck it into my 73 GMC pickup, I didn't have to go through emmissions. Did not change a thing on the engine. I guess the vehicle body is what produces the emmissions, eh. Big money scam here. Sorry off topic (sort of). I'm just curious if I will have to take the FB out to my Dad's house to get it registered.... we'll see.
