Hey Guys,

Had 2nd gear go out on my daily so now I can't get it smogged. Worst part is it actually passes but can't run it with no 2nd. If anyone has a hook-up and can help me out please pm me. Located in Socal, LA area. Thanks.

Fix your transmission, you could probably find a decent used one for the same price as a "hook up" and it's not all that hard to replace.

Yeah I already spent money on a used tranny that ended not haveing 2nd gear as well. Swapping it is not easy. There is no way to tell if a used tranny is in decent shape. If I had more time I would maybe try another but registration expires soon.

They should be able to test your car off the dyno doing a two speed idle test. There is a way for them to do it if you find the right tech. I did it with my Z06 cuz it didn't fit on the dyno. I'm sure someone could help you out that way. It is technically still passing a sniffer test.

 

I asked at a few different places they wouldn't even try. Thanks for the advise guys. I'll keep looking into it.

 

That's a bummer, looks like you will just have to find another transmission Or keep looking for a "hook up"
