Drivers Wanted for Chumpcar Race at Sonoma Dec. 8th-9th !

Sears Point, Infineon, Sonoma....whatever they call it, this is one awesome track. My favorite anywhere, as a matter of fact. We're taking our two RX7s to the West Coast Chumpionship Race!

This is your chance to race at one of the truly great tracks and also your chance to maybe even win the championship. This is a twin-7 event, so each driver will be scheduled for one 105-minute shift per race. We will be racing two track configurations!

Day 1: We race the traditional course with the Carousel.

Day 2: We race the NASCAR track with the Chute.

Race Info here.

Check out the Chumpcar forum.

Drive our Chumpcars! No competition license required. No racing experience required. Two-day and single-day options available. No helmet? No racing suit? Get 'em at Wine Country Motorsports at the track!

This is going to be an amazing weekend, Dec 8-9th. If you're interested, please e-mail me at: mzgoodman@comcast.net.

Last call!

One more seat left in our Chumpcar team! Predicting 3.5 hours drive time per driver this weekend, Chumpionship contender!

At this point, we are also offering single-day drive options. Drive either Saturday, Sunday, or both!

Also a couple other teams looking for drivers:
1. Volvo team
2. FB RX-7, 4-driver team

There is also a Lemons race happening this weekend in SoCal.

The race is at Chuckwalla Raceway, approximately 75 miles east of Palm Springs. So if you're local or can get yourself down there, here are some options:

3. BMW E28, well-sorted car under new ownership
4. Firebird, pay your share of gas and a few bux for tires, new team
5. Spank is looking for drivers. Choice of the Austin America, Corvegge (80s Corvette, runs on vegetable oil), and something called the Moke.

If you need a ride / flight down to Chuckwalla, I know of a couple of inexpensive ride share options.

I would be down for this (wouldn't mind driving someone elses car for racing :P) if it wasn't during the holiday months, "family time" if you know what I mean. If anything like this goes down again begining in February through the spring months post up a thread again.

Damn, I haven't checked the forum in a while. I have only a small racing resume... I should look for these things further ahead of time. Too short notice (my own fault).

Sarah7 -- if you have racing gear, you can still show up to the Chuckwalla race. There are still some teams looking for drivers due to last minute bailouts. I know of one team that only has one driver signed. So you could show up with your helmet, suit, etc., and find a team to race with. I'll PM you contact info.

Funkspectrum -- PM'd you.

Spectators always welcome!

Even if you don't race this time around, come on by and watch the action. Spectating is very informal. You can watch from anywhere on the track, stroll through the paddock, even crash some evening barbecues! Great way to get to know the teams and maybe land yourself a ride next time!

Chuckwalla Valley Raceway
Desert Center Rice Rd, Desert Center, CA 92239
(760) 227-3100

Sears Point Raceway
29355 Arnold Drive, Sonoma, CA 95476
(707) 938-8448

Note: there is a door charge (weekend pass) involved -- wristband, but it gives you access to everything.
