differences in s4 n/a vs s4 t2 rotor housings?

So I'm picking up this t2 engine today for cheap, like super cheap, lol. The Guy says an apex seal on each rotor blew so the rotor housings and rotors are damaged. Now I have a running s4 n/a that i can rob parts off of. So I researched a bit and came up with some info such aas I can use n/a rotors in the t2. And that t2 housings can be used in n/a if they are reversed (such as rotor one housing in the plaplace of rotor 2 and vica versa) for the acv to work properly. But what about an n/a housing in a t2? I know that its a 6 port engine but dodoes that affect anything? I think ill have to add a hole and fitting to one of the housings for the water to turbo line, but is there anything else i am missing?

I tried searching but i am on my phone at work so idle if I am getting all the info that i need, and i am supposed to go pick up the engine directly after i get off work. I plan on replacing the apex seals and mosst likely just get a full rebuild kit as well. Just seeing what I can salvage from my n/a into the t2 (I know the accenteic shaft can be used as well from the t2 to n/a but unsure of the other way around?)

Thanks,
Matt

So basically all id have to do to make it work is ddrill a hole for the coolant passave that goes to the stock t2 lim and open up the exhaust ports?

Thanks for that link, ill have mormore time to reseach it later. Was just wondering ahead of time the babasics if itd be even worth the effort. Prob gonna do this if I cant find any s4 t2 housings for a decent price around here.

better to just swap them out, grinding them weakens the sleeve.

Karak- so if i use my n/a housings and have the cooling hole drilled, it'll be alright to just leave the exhaust sleeve out? I only plan on running about 8-9 lbs pf boost for the next year or 2 until I get more aquainted with turbo engines.

i would not leave the sleeve out unless your manifold is designed for it, only seriously built aftermarket manifolds are built to eliminate the exhaust port sleeves otherwise in most cases the gases hit the step on the manifold before exiting which makes the flow turbulent and creates issues with blowing out the manifold gasket and warping flanges.

best bet is to find a set of turbo sleeves or just the one if you only need one.

Ahh I see. Yeah i am going to try and find Turbo housing's if the ones I have are tore up, but if I absolutely need to, ill just swap out the sleeves.

Alright guys, Just want to make sure I have everything straight before I start going further with my project.

I am using na reman housings for my build because i got them for a steal. I swapped in t2 exhaust sleeves, and had a machine shop machine in the coolant passage in the rear rotor housing. That all I need to do to be able to use n/a housings right?

Sorry for the redundancy, just want to make sure I am not missing anything before I assemble this engine.

I know I know, it would have been easier to just get t2 rotor housings, cheaper I am sure as well. But thats niether here nor there, because I am too far into this now to change up my plan. Haha

Thanks in advance guys...
Matt

It's not easy to take out those sleeves, if you don't have experience on getting then out, you going to have a hard time...

Its already done. The things I have listed are things I have completed already. They were a b*&%H but thats life. lol Just seeing if theres anything ELSE (besides sleeves and coolant hole machined, like I said they are already done) I need done before i can continue the build and do the final clean and start reassembly.

Thanks
