Tonight is the cruise night in Fresno, anyone interested gimme a call. I'm taking what it looks like 4 rotors a few pistons, and a lot of rice lol.

Also unless I see a jump in who's coming out next week for the meet, it's going to be either downsized to a smaller spot of cancelled. So far I have 4 confirmed people including myself

Seems we lost all our Fc's and Fd's lol

It's a little early but I still want everyone to get ready for next month. It's going to be the Valley's first annual rotary BBQ I want to see if we can branch out the the outer regions of the valley to make this one of our best meets to date.

May 19 at Plaza park

Unhappy

Pictures? Fun didn't last long. Engine is shot. Rear plate water passage corrosion through to the seal, all the bearings are toast, and that is just the initial easy to see problems. Oh well.....time to find another one.

Are we reserving a table/tables or we relying on their generosity?

Next meet ideas:

Mooney Grove Park:
$45 for smallest covered arbor, seats 30-40 people (3 available for 5/19/12)
$6 per car to get in

Plaza Park:
$62 for smallest covered arbor (unknown availability)
Free parking (limited)

I work almost as close to Plaza as I live to Mooney Grove, I see both every day. I'm personally a fan of Mooney Grove; not because it's my front yard, but I just like the park better and will pay $6 to drive my car around the corner and through the gate. As it gets warmer, sports pick up and families go out a lot more and Plaza gets pretty busy. Mooney Grove, because of the entry fee, stays pretty calm and nice.

I think the Grove would be a better location to relax and BBQ, be able to keep an eye on the cars easily, good for photos and still has stuff for kids.

Plaza is right next to the highway. Ok, but Mooney Grove isn't exactly hard to get to either; take Caldwell exit and go East, turn South at Mooney Blvd, Mooney Grove is a short way on left.

I'm still wondering whose going to cook the food??? (any volunteers???)

I would suggest an earlier time. like @ 2pm to have some daylight and warmth to see the cars, even if we've seen them a couple times before.

Well there are the options, I smell some bias towards Mooney but it does gives us the direct opportunity to go cruise down said street after we are all done eating.

Well we got a location, now we need people that are going to be there. I need to get in contact with everyone that wants to make this actually happen before its set in stone. I want to get the place reserved at least by this coming weekend so we know we have a spot.

Anyone that would like to contribute towards the cause get in contact with me here through pm, fb, text, or call asap. We can't have a BBQ without a spot

I'll be cooking the food.

Hell if anyone wants anything marinated the night before I can have that done too. The meat I'm going to be taking is going to be wined and rubbed

I hope someone with more Visalia-knowledge can chime in, but its my understanding that there's actually a city law against cruising Mooney, and cops are real hard on the performance cars in the area. Friends of mine and I have been run out of Visalia by cops before when we went to have dinner (literally, they followed us until we were out in the country to make sure we left). This might also be a good reason for an early bbq as well, to keep away from the street racing vibe that starts filling the streets on weekend evenings.

Correct, signs are posted that cruising is prohibited. However, driving from Mooney's Grove to, say, Hwy 198 is not illegal; it's merely driving across town to get to the highway.

I wouldn't call it "cruising" it's more of we're going down a certain road that is known for cruising, to get to another road that is part of our destination. I'm down for the early start, 2 might be too early but we'll see how the weather acts in the next few weeks.

I'll be going down to Visalia to day and reserve the spot, again if anyone feels like helping out it be much obliged. The budget of a broke *** college student is very tight

I will help cover the cost of the site. Also, what kind of meat are you going to use? We can start a list for additional dishes to bring.

Many thanks sir, and not sure, just gonna hit the meat market and grab a few pounds. I'm leaving it up to everyone what they want to bring. Once it gets closer to the date we'll see what we need
