Central Valley Rotaries
The car had bad clear on the passenger side front fender and the front air dam was magenta colored. Looked like a botched repair. Once I started cleaning it up, it just got worse. Completely disassembled the front clip, doors, and removed the glass all the way around. Lots of stress cracks in the fiberglass and some shoddy Bondo work under the paint.
I stiffened the front air dam bottom with channel aluminum bent to the profile and will be adding stiffening rods to the sides as well.
The interior is 75% stripped right now. I have been buying parts at Picknpull as cars have arrived and scored a headliner in A1 shape along with some plastics. The original center stereo bezel was cracked so i fabricated a new center out of 1/4 plexi until I can find another factory center. Recarpeting behind seats and rear deck. Covered the spare tire well because the little donut spare will not keep my car off the ground if I had to use it.
The engine is still the 12a but was installed new just before I bought it. Mechanic doing the install new nothing about rotaries and had every feasible vacuum hose routed wrong. The nikki was half connected and that half was wrong as well. Trailered it home from SF, straightened out the vacuum lines, replaced the ACV and passed smog first time out.
All in all it has been a blast. Looking to get it back on the road soon. Somewhat disappointed in my paint job but it is my first and I am not really fond of this particular color so changing it again is probably in the future.

Not sure how many people will be interested for this but in a few weeks (2-3) I'm going to be going up 180 for a photo run. I went up last year around this time and it was by far one of my favorite spot to take pics. If enough are interested we can make this our meet, otherwise it will be set for another date...or cancelled for the month of December if there is lack of inactivaty. Anyways here's a few shots I took last year off my old phone

The spot isnt too far up. It's right there at that little park where you usually have to pay. There and possibly Hume lake, I heard it froze over. I got a friend that lives in the area so I got the scoop on road conditions. I'll shoot you a text the week I go

Where'd you hear this???
And is that guy still working for mazda???
Been out for sometimes now.....damn vendors sure like messing up orders on my 7. It's almost done after the new I/C arrives and all the new dwn pipe and twin gate dp gets welded up.
What custom builder would decide that they would run the hot pipe right in front of the turbo inlet? V-mount that is.....That's why I had to get a new kit...waste of time and money.
Off to tune afterwards things get squared away....

Ive always wondered how it looked under the hood haha looks like it's coming along well. Btw are you and Al having a competition of who's got the bigger turbo

As for everyone else, I will be taking a break on scheduling meets until things get rolling in here again. The last get together for the year will be on the 17th in Reedley at 3 at the me n eds
Well....got the FB reassembled except for door and window seals and was headed for the smog shop. Noticed a miss or what sounds like a miss when holding the throttle at more than idle. Smog shop did sniffer test and says idle is running clean but 2500 rpm is a little high.
I have checked for vacuum leaks, removed and reseated the carb, new plugs and wires, and anything else I can think of but still a slight pop. Kinda pissing me off considering it was running as near perfect as humanly possible before I started the body work.

Best advice would be to give Jr a call, he can probably help you find out the problem
Btw not sure if anyone seen this but if anyone wants to pick up a clean Fb check it out http://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/2701279087.html
Btw(X2) next saturday, change of plans...instead of the drive, anyone is welcome to swing by for a race in fresno. It'll be a test of who's got the best skills in the drivers seat, simulated that is
Its going to be at the Raceroom so if anyone is interested let me know.

Picknpull in Fresno got an 85 GSL_SE in a few days ago. Body is shot for the most part and the engine has some parts pulled but I am thinking about pulling the front cover and cross brace for a future turbo build. May actually take the whole engine if they run another 50% sale this next week or so.
Is the meet still on for next weekend?

Wow, now those are some clean welds man. Amazing quality
It's confirmed a few of us are going to meet up at the gameroom in Fresno Sunday around 3-4ish. Anyone is welcome for a few races and possible food/drinks after at the many places to hangout in the area.
