Central Coast Ride Along

Hey y'all!

About a decade ago I ended up selling my '94 R2 when I moved out of the country. When I got back to the States, I was surprised to find that the price for a car like mine had basically tripled (maybe quadrupled now, haha). Given the price explosion, I thought it was time to move onto something else, and so I did. But if I'm being honest, my old 7 still haunts me to this day, haha.

Hopefully this isn't too odd, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to let me tag along for a drive so I can decide whether I should make some mistakes and get back into a 7, or if it's more my nostalgia haunting me than the car itself and I can finally stop thinking about it every day. I don't have many posts, but I've been a member of the forum for 16 years now.

I drive an ND2 MX-5 that is modded to a very nice spec, with MCS 2Ws, Karcepts bars, CE28's, etc., it's a phenomenal canyon car. Perhaps someone here has been thinking of getting into something newer, and would be interested in riding along in the ND as a win-win?

At any rate, I appreciate the consideration regardless of whether or not anything can be arranged. If anyone between the Bay Area and San Luis Obispo would be willing to let me tag along for a drive, I'd be more than grateful, so feel free to PM me, or to respond here. Thanks y'all!

I’m in Delano. If you ever drive this way I’ve got a stock CYM I can take you out for a drive. Richard

Are you near Santa Cruz perhaps? If so I wouldn't mind taking you for a spin in my FD. We also have an ND2 (ours is an RF Club) so maybe we can get a little caravan going or something.

Thanks Richard, that's really very kind of you. Delano is about 3-4 hours out, but I'd be more than happy to make that trip if I can't arrange anything closer--though frankly I'd probably drive twice that far just to check out a stock CYM, haha. When Highway 1 opens up again I might reach out here and turn it into a really nice drive, if the offer extends that far into the future! Thanks again

Hey Natey, that's awesome. I'm based out of Monterey, so very close. I'd be super keen to caravan, sounds like an awesome time. I'll PM you to see if we can work something out.

Richard, are you still in Delano? My wife is from Earlimart and went to Delano High. I now live in Visalia and relocated here from Irvine. I really want to get back into the RX7 scene and would love to meet people in this area that are into the same. Currently I have an E36 project car, my DD G30, and my wife's DD ct200h. All of them modified to some degree, I can't help myself.
