With the CHP 11-99 card, badge, and plate I understand. But with just a KMA plate frame its iffy. I get hasseled by officers in the department that patrols my area, but theyre not Sherriff or CHP.

Im registered as a Sherriff explorer and one of the deputys told me about the plates so im going to try to pick one up.

if you get a VFW Vet tag you will ok or any Veteran tag and your in the clear!

i should reword this if you have a vet tag the cop will be more sympathic if you get pulled. it will not get you out of smog test although ppl like me should be smog exempt bc we were sent to iraq i think that its the least the CA can do for us dont you.

Yeah, I pulled that one several times when I was stationed at Camp Pendelton and get pulled over in the LA area. Worked liked a charm as long as you weren't too close to a nearby base.
