I am building a motor for a guy who will be moving to CA this summer. He has asked me to build/install it to meet CA emmissions. Since he is moving into CA does he need addional equipment installed?? How dod you SoCal boys cope?

 

Which year motor are you building?
Don't forget visual.. Airpump plus hoses, cats, stock IC and stock airbox.

 

Its a 91 however, its my understanding that the year is insignificant as its newer than 76 and older than 5 years. All visuals are in place and will be working. when you spec out new cars they have an add on charge for CA emmissions, is there some additional equipment required for those that transfer in to CA?

 

I think you are either Federal emissions legal, or CA emissions legal. Both are acceptable for a used car in Cali. As long as your car is bone stock there should be no issues. I.E. no major engine porting, intakes, midpipes...

 

The reason for asking about year was because of the turbo motors. FMIC's are a no no. Wasn't much to go in og post but looks like you're well on your way now.. good luck
