Hey guys,
Since we're going to have a bunch of people driving down to SoCal from all around for Seven Stock, I figured it wouldn't hurt to stay an extra day so we could all hit up one of the local road courses
This even is being held by SpeedVentures, here is the link to the event details:

If you're going to sign up before August 31st, PM me before ordering and I can get you free timing rental
Just to gauge interest, let's start a list:

there are only 3-5 people who actually track their cars in the west section. Pointless thread.
Just like my Techshop thread, no one here cares about fabing things up, they just want to buy fog lights and side skirts. 'hey guys, where can i get a GP sports body kit...'

WHAT?! You mean there are people who spend thousands on their suspension just to drive it around the street and basically waste their money?! This can't be!?!
:p

I'm just messin.
But i dont think my car will be track ready for the event. I got my funds all tied up trying to get my car track ready. Plus i'm a lil afraid of breaking my car on the track so far from home. This is my daily driver, I need this car for work the next day.
I'll prolly roll out there and watch.

its definetly something in the back of my head.
Even though my car is good for Daily driving Right now, its definetly not up for track duty yet.
Anjew thinks i'm going to over heat my cooling system. He is prolly right.
Plus i need new suspension(saving up)
New Tires
And I'm having a slight problem with my front end. It sways back and forth a slight bit on the freeway. I just replaced my wheel bearings thinking this would help fix it. and even though my car feels better, its not fixed.
Dont worry Johnson, I'll make it to the track eventually, just not to this event.

Why do track days have to be so expensive? I'd rather go canyon driving = cheaper
What do I need to prepare on my car so that it can be qualified for track?
I'm driving my car to the ground.

How is Buttonwillow local? It's at least 3 hours from LA/Irvine where 7stock is. And the remarks about west section people tracking their cars... it comes down to confidence in the setup you have. I know what my car can do, no question, I have dozens of datalogs in 3rd-4th gear pulls AND video of the car on track/in motion.
It's a matter of knowing when you can push the envelope. That's what experience and instrumentation are for. Anything else and you're playing with fire. Any car can be a ticking time bomb, rotary, piston, 2-stroke, whatever. As cliche as it may be, knowledge is power.

Hi Mike,
Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, and Cali Speedway are considered the tracks closest to (ie- local) the Southern California people. At least that's what the track goer's have been calling it
Good point. The true test of any car is a mid-summer track day in 100*+ weather
So you seem confident enough, will you be putting your car to the test?
Hope to see you there buddy.

Once I get my new Rad installed and a couple of hoses changed...I can probably make this event..I for sure dont want to overheat. Will it still be crazy hot out there late Sept????
