Talking Bimmerfest 2010

Today i went to the rose bowl to Bimmerfest for an amazing car show. I hope that sevenstock will one day be this big.

The show was just like 7stock- 1st- Anyone (in a bmw) could drive right up pay 20 bucks and you were in. 2nd- there was bmw's for miles in every direction waiting to get in(like 7stock 9 when we were lined up down the street and I was first in line because I woke up at 2 am)

There was probably 4 times more bimmers there than sevens at sevenstock. It was crazy! and the had a Alpine Speaker Trailer with a little 3x3 sound proof room that you go inside of one person at a time and EXPERIENCE 160 DECIBALS. I had to wear some like shooting range type earmuffs and it still hurt bad. My whole entire body was shaking like crazy. I think there was 8-10 12inch subs and a bunch of mids and highs and what not.

I will post pics when the gf gets home from work, i can't work a computer very well.

I don't think any 7's would show up if it cost $20/car!

People need to think about the costs involved- Staff, a place to hold the event, closing down streets if needed, etc.

This is the second year at Bimmerfest for me. It's $10 per person if you walk in or $20 bucks per car even if you stuffed it with people

Sevenstock is tiny compared to this but then again theres way more BMWs out there on the street and Bimmer owners tend to have/spend a bit more money than the RX-7 crowd. It used to be held in Santa Barbara in a Polo club but the event outgrew the place and I heard some people peeled out on the grass pissing off the owners. It's a shame since it was very nice in Santa Barbara.

Last year in Santa Barbara, there was way more free stuff given away by vendors, including discount coupons from SpeedVentures. BMW was even there handing out their own branded sunscreen lotion, hand sanitizer and other stuff. This year there was a vendor with a trash can full of ice and water bottles for everyone to take. This was a big hit since lemonade was $5 a cup

The $20 dollar per car fee is worth it IMO for what the event offers. The food wasnt that great at the Rose Bowl though. Sevenstock's food is better I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them off my camera.

Santa Barbara went nutty on bimmerfest last year. If i was the organizer i would have never gone back to Santa Barbara. The cops where EVERYWHERE handing out tickets by the handful.

There was a bunch of people driving like idiots to the event and possibly from it too. Most of the cars I saw pulled over were E36s which arent the brightest bunch of people (think Honda crowd)

^Thats because you can get em for under $10k for a nice one. Now that I think about alot of the E36's were JDM'd out.
