700 and 3 years....
I don't know what school you went to but that's too much and too long, unless you don't have any under the hood experience, then it's understandable. But for those with work experience and know how of basic emissions then 1 year max and easily under 300 dollars.
Pass the A6 and A8 at one time, very easy to do. While you're studying for the L1 which you will take at the next ASE session take the the classes. I went to Cerritos Community College and finished all the classes i needed in one semester. Pass L1 another easy test. Pass BAR exam which is basically the L1 all over again with a little added difficulty, but in the end just as easy. Then Voila you have a license.

So it only takes around six months to get a smog license and will only cost @500 bulks?
I want to get my smog license and ASE all in one shot. What do you guys think which route to go if you had to do it all over again?

i guess i should chime in. this really isnt a matter of "is wyotech or uti worth it" rather, who took the ase's. i didnt take mine this round, i was too goddamned broke. idk, im in auto tranny class right now, and it seems studying for that class plus the ase's, what a bitch.
now, my 2cents on tech schools.
wyotech and uti are great school, IF you actually put time and effort into it, not only attend every day, but also study further than the curriculem and ALSO have a job in the field.
like i stated, im in auto trannys right now (fifth class), i hate the class because i have no interest of working on them. so far i have only missed 1 day out of 7 months, have made honor role (94% and up in 4/5 classes, in my fifth now), and feel that these classes prepare you for the real world, THEY ARE NOT TO TEACH YOU EVERYTHING AND LET YOU WALK OUT KNOWING IT ALL. if it were that easy, everyone could do it.
now, quit bitching about the cost, if you want to go, study more, work harder and use the knowledge everyday.
i work as a technicican at pepboys (dont laugh, i know) and i mostly do just diagnostics because i know how, i took what i have learned so far and apply it everyday. so, if you dont think that going to wyotech and uti is worth it, then stfu and get the **** over it. good for you, in the meantime, i will be making more money in the long run, and also have something to put on my resume.
