Louie Is a Legit Tech. I admit I am not the Best Tech in the world. However, that being said, I have worked very hard on my FC that was a TOTAL Project. I have torn the engine out had it rebuilt by another reputable re-builder in SoCal. Then Noticing my electrical problems took my dash off and with a string of bad luck finding a good replacement Harness both engine and Body, I had Louie ReFerb my harness. The Electrical was beautiful and I know it was very time consuming. Throughout my time working on my car Louie has been a "Go To" guy for all my questions and help when I need it. I plan entirely of working with Louie, His Brother, RRR (tuning), and Lucky 7 for modifications.

Just found your coil overs on ebay
SPRING RATES:
F: 62mm ID; 200mm length; 10 kg/mm
R: 62mm ID; 200mm length; 8 kg/mm
It may be possible to swap the rears to the front and only buy one pair from Megan Racing or from Swift. I have 10/10kg and I rmemebr them being crazy stiff for the street.
Yes, that cell # is still good.

I know this is an old thread, but I cant help posting my experience with RRR. I had purchased an engine from Nick many years ago. It was well built, so I figured I would give him my business again, even though his shop is 230 miles from where I live. I took my FD in for a rebuild. They did the job, and I picked up the car. My brand new engine had a leaking oil pan. My pristine FD also had a ding on the side. They took it to a dent pro guy, and brought it back just in time for me to get stuck in Orange County traffic at 5:00 pm for a 230 mile drive to the North.
I got the car home, and started fixing all kinds of little things that were loose, incomplete, or not done at all.
After break in, I took the car back for a PFC installation/tune, and to get the oil pan leak fixed. I got the car back, and it ran like ****. Driveability was terrible. The oil pan still leaked.
I brought it back for a 3rd time for a retune, and to get the oil pan leak fixed. Keep in mind, its 230 miles one way each time I have to come back. Each time I have to drop it off, and come back, its roughly 920 miles. 230 each way to drop it off, and 230 miles each way to pick it up.
I went back for a 3rd time to pick it up. This time to car ran much better. The oil pan was replaced with a new one, but it still leaked. IT STILL LEAKED!!! I wasnt going back again.
I decided to live with the oil leak for a while. One cool morning a got on it pretty good and heard a loud pop from under the hood. It was detonation. The car seemed ok. The engine didnt blow up. I took the car to Mariah Motorsports in Santa Barbara. They resealed the oil pan, and retuned the timing on the PFC. It had not been tuned properly by Nelson at RRR, even though he had 2 chances to do it right
My rebuild from RRR was about 6 years ago. The engine is still running good, with only about 10,000 miles on it. The engine was well built, so I have faith in Nick, but not his staff.
I recently took my car in to have an oil leak looked at. While looking for the leak, the mechanic and I found a bolt that had been broken off and not replaced during the rebuild from RRR. There were supposed to be two bolts holding a bracket in place, but there was only one. I'm lucky that one remaining bolt didnt come loose.

sucks that you got a bad tune. Were you tuning by hr or flat rate? For the oil pan I used the garfinkle brace and sealed it with no gasket. If you live that far away I would have thoroughly test drove it before going back up to slo. You should have just called RRR and explained the situation. I'm sure they would have helped you. Now that you had another shop mess with the tune they probably cant do anything. I got my car tuned by nelson flat rate. Drives amazing.

A new engine shouldnt have any leak PERIOD!!! There is no excuse for that.
The oil leak was apparent before I took the car home. The problem was that driving the car back was the only way to get home. Of course I called them about the problems. Louie was very helpful over the phone, but didnt do a good job when the car was there. Its pretty easy for him to be helpful on the phone, he doesnt really have to do anything. He just says he will do it.
Maybe Nelson has learned to tune better since then. He didnt do a good job for me. I'll never go back there again.
That's too bad, because Nick is a good guy.

I had my FD tuned with Nelson once. Here is my honest opinion. The overall package for the cost is ok. Louie and the techs are great guys, they to a compression check, keep things in order while tuning. I loved that.
Nelson kind of took me for an idiot which I didnt like. With my TD61 1.0 A/R, 3.5inch DP, bigger injections, more boost, etc etc I made less power than my stock twin setup. So I was constantly asking Nelson if there was something wrong? Not with the tune per se, but in general.. something should be wrong. As the tuner he should be the one to tell me that. He tried explaining me how turbos work, how power is made and how it is very possible to make less power with my setup. Shoot the **** straight with me, thats all I want. He was taking offense every time I said "the car isnt making proper power" He blamed forums and such for inflating the hp expectations. I was speaking from first hand experience on multiple FD's. I was down 100hp! He should know that.
He spent decent time on the tune, I appreciated that. Charged me the usual arm and leg and I was off. At this point, I decided to tune the thing myself since I wasnt happy with a 315whp single turbo FD at 15psi. Once I hooked up my wideband and datalog I realized I was super retarded timing wise at AFR of near 12 at redline. Maybe the tune changed? Maybe my car was acting weird? I dont know.
After street tuning to 11.2 afr and more aggressive timing, I gained more power and the engine was def safer to run. Im not the type of person to call back and demand a refund or retune.. I just never went back. Nelson is a knowledgeable tuner and also very proud. He doesnt want to be told what to do. I wouldNT NOT take my car there if you need to tune. Just be careful, say exactly what you want with the tune and make sure its done.

Bought an FD that was a RRR build and have been working to fix some issues. I wasn't particularly impressed with them when I talked to them at 7stock. I personally am loyal to rotary power. Jeff really knows his stuff and he's not over priced like everyone else. I has have an issue with the car and unlike some other shops he found the issue in 10 min and fixed it in 15 and didn't charge me much at all.
With tuning he's got a 350 hp fd that also gets 23 mpg. I'm going to get my car tuned by him as soon as I have the time. There again, he's giving a really good deal, literally a fraction of want everyone else wants to charge.
