You might have some decent luck posting in the Power FC section about a trying to find a map... You have 850cc primary and 1600cc secondarys I hope... not the other way around as your post looks..

You should really think about investing in a wideband o2 sensor, at least that would be my recommendation.. Since your going all out with mods anyhow its nice to know what kind of AFR's are going on and very needed when tuning something like this. Unfortunately I have not really played much with my power FC but to change around the fans and a little on the maps to make sure its nice and safely rich.

I know there's a couple guys in San Francisco able to tune it, I just wouldn't feel safe doing it on someone I don't really know. Karack could most likely do it, but his shop is many hours away... however sometimes he is down in this area though... All though I know he's been a busy man since he's started his buisness so he might be tied up. However its worth a try!

Well if nothing else then here is a little bump for you, sounds like the car will be a monster when you are done with it!

yeah i do have the 1600 sec and the 850 as primarys....i did have it posted in the power fc page but no one had anything to say....damm i just need a basic tune just so that i can drive it around and break in the motor... after that i will go get the comple tune and dyno pulls done at rotary extreme...someone was telling me that you need a datlogic to controll the 1600cc ..?? isthat so ? anyhow i do have a air/fuel gauge on the car at all times.. i know its not as accurate but i will have it tuned with a wideband....but on the good side the motor sounds nuts.... a guy went by the shop and asked if it had a race cam in it .... ha ha ... but yeah hopefully everything turns out well..... thanks for the help.. much apreciated

Ahh well, as far as I know you need a datalogit to adjust the ecu effectively to use the 1600's. Once you have it tuned, you can disconnect the datalogit. Its just handy to have when you need to make changes across the board. You only need the thing for tuning, not all day long in the car. I have a datalogit, I dont think you need it in there all the time, just to dial it in. The A/F gauge is a little better then nothing but I just couldn't hold myself to trust the damn thing. I will try and take a peek into the datalogit a bit more about using the 1600's to see if I can find anything. I was going to eventually upgrade to either those or 1300's. I was undecided really.

If my uncle had his dyno installed at his shop I might have been able to better help you out here.. unfortunately he won't have that ready for a while...

Just like you said, unfortunately the thing can't be tuned without a wideband properly setup.... really for a break in you *MIGHT* be able to get away with a map just involving the upgraded primaries. Since you won't be going into secondary area while breaking it in... even if you did it would drown the car... which well wouldn't be good but better then leaning out in most cases.

Thats what I was trying to say once its tuned you do not need a datalot to drive around. Its only to dial in everything to where you want it. Once the tune is done, you take it out and drive around...

So if you could find someone to tune it for you at their shop with one then you wouldn't have to fork out the cash to buy one.

You definitely need a datalogit for the 1600cc sec. b/c 1500cc or 1550cc is max. on the commander.

He doesn't need it in there all the time though, thats what he is asking. I beleive he only needs it to write to the ECU. Once the ECU has been written there wouldn't be a need for the datalogit until another tune is being performed..

Or am I wrong?

No, youre not wrong. I never said anything about the datalogit being there all the time. I just said he needs it for the 1600cc sec. and you can remove it once the file is uploaded.

I had the datalogit a few years back, definitely a cool unit to have. A lot more options than the commander alone. I believe Chuck at Rotary Extreme has them in stock.
