Any SoCal 3rd Gens with power steering removed?
Bump!!!
If there's anyone in the LA / OC / IE area who would let me drive their manual-steering FD, I'd be willing to buy lunch, beers, or pay your entry fee for an autocross or something. The next autocross is July 22-23rd at Fontana Speedway.

I did it to my FD with 490hp and 285's up front. Low speed sucks... but the road feel/feedback is kick ***.
I'm roadracing at Infineon first weekend in August. I'll let you know how it feels after 2 track days back to back. I've only been doing 1 track day weekends and it is a workout and you feel it when going to bed. Out like a light. The road feedback is worth the extra effort IMO.

how much does manual suck at low speed. before getting a fd i've driven other cars that do not have power steering (89 civic) as well as cars that did (mazda mpv l
, acura tl ). and i could feel the road better in my civic compared to the tl/mpv... and now that i think about it, probably had a better road feel than the fd.
p/s feels like im just turning the wheel and the car moves. non powered feels like im actually driving i can feeeel the road.
im interested in depowering my p/s on the fd... as soon as i get some more input as to how difficult the fd is to steer at low speeds.. can anyone compare the steering difficlutly level with a non p/s civic lol.
plus does anyone have the link for true p/s removal. i've seen a few walkthroughs that bend the lines / drain fluid. but that's stupid

I just bought another daily-driver, so I'm thinking about this pretty seriously. I'm not sure if I'm willing to ditch the a/c though...

Thanks scratchjunkie, so far I've driven a few different cars without PS, but they were all lighter than my FD by a few hundred pounds, and had narrower tires.
Have you removed the A/C as well? How do you keep cool?

i tossed my a/c as well. its not that bad, considering i never used it anyhow. just have both windows rolled down.
girls will bitch though, so only take them out at night.
a cool thing i like about having no a/c is that i can control the radiator fans without doing the fan mod.
