Any RHD FD Owners in California?
Has anyone in CA paid for C.A.R.B compliance? I’ve been looking at this RHD FD for sale in Anaheim and I’m wondering how complicated and expensive it is.

We just got back from LA to look at Skyline GTRs for the sibling at TopRank importers.
What we were told was to expect around 10kUSD -12kUSD additional cost, and about a years time without the car as it bounces between CARB labs and GNK to get prepped, modified, and tested for ARB standards.
I think the process usually takes less than a year, but around when we asked (late August 2021) they said the process was so flooded with vehicles that the realistic waiting time was a year.
For something like an R32 GTR, with a base price from Toprank of like 60 grand and another 10-12 grand on top of that, hearing that we wouldn't see the car until late 2022/early 2023 if we bought it today was the nail in the coffin. We now have a neat little AP1 living under our roof for him instead.

Hey there,
I actually just acquired a '93 JDM FD that was titled in Florida. I was lucky to get the Vin Verification done and accepted.
If the car doesn't have any Federal labels or Import Labels they are going to direct you to CHP. Which is the last place you want to go.
It is crazy here in California. With CARB it makes it difficult. I didn't think I was going to be able to get it pushed through. It all depends on what person you get at the DMV.
It is possible but there definelty are risks.
I am still very new to this and this is the limited information I know from first hand experience.

Would you be interested in trading your rear seats for the storage bins in my vehicle? I’d pay for all the work.

Thanks for the offer but I like to have the back seats in mine. I have 2 very small children. So worse case they can sit back there.
It also helps for insurance purposes.
Thanks
-Andrew
