Description:

I’d like to trade my storage bins for rear seats. I’m willing to pay a shop to get the work done. I’ve provided an example of the quality I want. I live in North San Diego County, California. PM me if you have a RHD FD and would like to trade. Thanks

Storage bins are the rare option, only came on the lightweight spec cars. Almost all the Japanese imports will have seats. Keep the bins.

I will be willing to sell if I end up buying the rear seats.

Are you only interested in meeting up to swap with someone local or would you consider shipping?

I’d prefer to swap with someone local so that we can take our cars to get the work done at the same time. It doesn’t seem like there are many RHD FD owners in California though(due to the C.A.R.B compliance). So I’m open to the idea of shipping parts back and forth.

Anyone interested in trading me their rear seats for my bins would have to be comfortable shipping their parts first, wait for me to install, and then ship my parts back.

Just FYI, the JDM seats basically don't fit a USDM car. The carpet is too short, the tunnel cover is too long, and the rear shock towers don't have seat latches. If you're past all that already, then cool.

Things are looking pretty good. I bought a trimmed tunnel cover from @tomsn16 to fit in the rear seats. A couple weeks from now @Aristo will be assisting @jaeyy0708 and I with the parts trade and installation.

You should document the install. Id love to see the process.
And what seat latches is Narfle referencing that are missing?

In the JDM FDs there are holes in the shock tower. These are for securing the seat backing so that it doesn’t fall forward when you make a hard stop. I’ve been told that it isn’t necessary, so I won’t be doing it.

You need those mounting holes to secure the back rest of the rear seats. If you don't, it is dead set dangerous and someone could be killed.

Thank you for the info. I'll have to pay a shop to properly secure the back rest.

Or we could just drill holes and rivet it?

That’s something I’d leave to a professional.
