To all you noobs that just refuse to do a freaking search

It is rare where a search doesn't answer my question. At the least, it helps you ask more clearly so you indeed get a response meaningful to your need.

I hate to say it but I mean people like you are the reason why people leave forums because you act like this and get all pissed off about a question that a "noob" has asked. Seriously if all you can do is complain about a question someone asked then log out of the forum and find something else better to do besides sitting on the computer....Just a thought......
(I already know you'll reply and be even more pissed and probably have a hernia, so just save yourself the trouble....just another thought)

k. thanks for sharing your opinion, but I don't agree with you.

I don't know how much you've learned about this forum from the 16 posts and few days that you've been around, but hang around some more and pay attention to what's what before throwing a fit.
btw, rx7mcd is teh

I understand that you don't agree, you made that very clear, but same stuff happened in a 240sx club and they were real jerks about the forums and they would moaned about every little question someone had and so I stopped posting, but I can tell its different here because everyone doesn't say use the search every time someone posted a question and its cool everyone is really friendly about the posts. Yea i havn't learned everything that's why I'm new but just finally decided to get my point across about people complaining about repeated questions. BTW I plan to stick around

That doesn't happen when I get a million pages of noobs asking the same thing.
It comes down to this. This forum is here for people to share information. It's not here for the noobs to come in, ask a question that's been asked a million times already, then never show up again until they have another question. That's just rude to everyone else. If they're not considerate enough to do a simple search before asking, I don't think anyone here is obligated to be nice to them.

noobs, noobs, noobs. That is just such a tired word, it makes the board look like it is inhabited by 12 year olds. I visit another automotive forum that is in no direct competition to this one, and I wont say what it is unless you really want to know. I've seen posts deleted because of other boards mentioned (which is childish).
This policy of telling people to search does not exist on this other forum, it is a pleasant place to be, and things are always fresh, even when the same subjects come around. I know both sides, I've used the internet for far too long, I know what works. Telling people to search isn't going to put an end to people who keep asking the same question. You cannot do anything about it, so the best thing to do is just either not answer the question or let other helpful people reply, which does work. Don't assume the same answers will be repeated by the same questions, something new can come along.
Sorry, but you're wrong. If there are only a handful of rotary shops in this state, then you get the same answers EVERY time the question is asked. Posting things like this thread do work. How do I know that it works? Because a post like this made me do my searches before asking questions when I was a noob.
People don't think that anyone listens to these posts because the ones that do don't come around posting about how they did a search. They just do searches. The ones that are vocal are the ones that don't want to do searches.
btw, rx7mcd... I've seen your other posts. You do your research before asking questions. I totally dig that. I don't care if someone asks a question that's been asked before. I'm just saying that they should take some effort to find some answers themselves before asking a group of people to give the answers to them.
I'm just saying to have some courtesy to the people that have been around for YEARS and answering the same question for YEARS. If you MUST ask, make sure that it's not something that's EASILY found through a search. Just so you guys know, I used to be one of those people that didn't care, but seriously, it gets REALLY old. And, no, you can't just ignore them. I can't explain why, but they just really stand out.
Last thing for the noobs that are bellyaching about how immature some people are. Guess what, this is the West Region. It's become a lot friendlier, but this is definitely NOT a noob friendly place. If you can survive long enough to become part of the West, you'll make some incredibly loyal friends. If not, we'll continue being jerks without you.

Of course there are useful info here....like FD sightings. heehehehe.
^^ Notice that the noob hasn't learned anything... he asked his question because he didn't know how to find the answer himself. Unless you've told him HOW to use the search function properly, you haven't done him much of a service. The best solution I've seen is to create a thorough FAQ page, then you can just link to that whenever a repetitive question is asked.
For instance, look at the 3rd Gen forum lately. The FAQ is pretty thorough, and repetitive questions get pointed there and closed.
