I was like dude all this for a exhaust ticket this is uncalled for, you have no probable cause for this.

So he puts me and my buddy in the back seat. Then he starts ****** ran sacking my car throwing everything around trying to find something. So then he pops my hood and starts looking around then they look under my car, one of the other officers(because it takes 6 cops to pull over 1 car) and he askes ru running a straight pipe outta there? I explained to him that i did sound recording for a video game this past week and i havent had time to put the other one back on.

The douche bag comes back and is all well it looks like your not going home with ur car 2night. I said y this has never happened before and i was pulled over 2 weeks ago and nothing like this happened. Then he starts saying ur cars low no smog blah blah blah and ur giving me attitude. I said no i even told you when you put me in the car im not trying to be a dick or give you attitude but this is excessive. So after searching my car for 20 mins and still not finding anything, then after running my id and all that 3 times and still comming up with nothing he let me go with a reff ticket. so i think im gonna register my car as a non opt get it all settled then drive it again
I didn't think they were aloud to just pop your hood, thought you had to do it yourself

+1 I bought a TII from a guy who had gotten a ref ticket for bov, exhaust and intake and all he did was pay like $400 instead of even seeing the ref.

EDIT: Oh yeah...you're really lucky they didn't tow your car for no cat.

Your excuse with the video game reason was pretty pathetic. If you are going to lie to the cops you had better have a good story. All you people thinking they are stupid are just asking for it.

Just tell them the damn truth, you want to drive around with no CAT on the car? Maybe make it LOOK like you have a cat on the car? Not just a straight pipe.

If its a NA Junk it, its likely not worth the time unless its in nice shape. Then you could just turn it into a track car. Unless the only mods you have are the straight pipe.. then you could turn it back to stock (ride height as well I am not mistaken) and get it all taken care of.

Ifs its some piece of crap barely running because you don't take care of it its likely not worth if it you have to change everything back. All depends on how much free time you have.

Yup, thats it. Like we are all scared of that ****.

Anyways, the OP sounds like a douche-kid anyways. Who runs around these days with no cat and then cries on a internet forum because they got caught for it? That's 1990's bullshit. I would of ticketed him too.

Why did you let the officer search your car like that? I don't think they could do all that without having probable cause.... meaning drugs, weapons, etc. You guys must have looked shady as hell or something. The other thing you shouldn't have done was argue, just be considerate and they'll lighten up. As far as popping the hood goes, you have to pop it and open it, they're not supposed to do it for you.

Well, since your car won't pass smog there's really no reason in putting all the stock stuff back on, just pay the fine. Don't even think about registering it as a non op. When you re-register your car for street use, you'll have to see the ref anyways, and well, your car won't pass. So in reality, that only delays the inevitable.

If that was true, the 'video game company' you are working with would have paid for everything having you taken to a track. Where all the audio and measurements could be taken to have it properly recorded. Doing any such thing on the streets would be a fools errand just asking for them to get sued by some accident waiting to happen.

On the off chance that they didn't do that then they are breaking the law as well by having you do such a thing. Holding them responsible for all of it and you wouldn't have anything to worry about.

If you were working with a video game company on some game you would also be breaking their Non Disclosure Agreement which they would have had you sign right away. At least if things were official. In which case if you signed it then by posting this you could be taken to the cleaners if anything serious came out of this. Refs/law enforcement decide to read this and question the 'gaming company' about their relation with you.

My FD passed smog fine with a street port and bigger injectors. Hell it even had an APEXI PFC, no issues what so ever with a cat on there. Stock cat as well as after market Bonez Hi-flo. If you can't make it pass then again its likely not running very well. Maybe try getting it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing. Or spend the time and do it yourself.

Please drop the act, stop lying to the cops, stop lying to us. Man up and pay all the fines to get it back on the street or sell it.

Or you could just take it lightly and realize there is no point to arguing with someone on the internet. You can't make everyone happy.

it's best to just STFU when you get pulled over. Asking for badges, IA andall that crap will only make your problems worse. When you get pulled over, drop the attitude.

As for the hood popper, I challenge anyone to find mine.

That's exactly the route I'm going. I plan on doing a swap and upgrading things here and there. The swap I'm planning might not be legal, but I know for a fact that with proper tuning it will pass smog.

I to have noticed that being chill and having no attitude can get you a long way with the coppers

I have a stock, newer rebuilt motor, no porting, running 720's and 1600's on a Haltech, Mazpower (my bro) did the tuning with the stock cats on it, and passed no problem, here in so-cal

so, it can me done.
