1/2 Mile Airstrip Event, Some Fast RX7's wanted!
I'm curious about what kind of speeds people will be getting in a 1/2 mile. I think gearing will make a big difference in how fast you'll be at the end, since you'll def have to shift past 4th (or even into 6th if you have a t56 
or some other trans). So for this event, is the winner the guy with the higher speed or the guy who crosses the finish line first? Sounds like they will be running 2 cars at a time, classic drag race style. HP definitely rules the longer the course is.

I would love to go and watch.. sounds like that's not gonna happen though. What car are you driving? And give us some details man. Make/model/year, mods, weight, wheel hp/tq, etc. Pics? Any 1/4 mi passes? 180 mph in a 1/2 mile means you are making retarded power/weight ratio. IIRC a stock ZR1 vette will run a whole mile in about that speed IIRC (dont' quote me on that!).

First and only 1/4 mile so far was a 11.3 @137mph. Traction limited and broke the diff and axle. All has been upgraded since.

Here's one guy with an 2010 ZR1 guess it's stock. 180 mph in standing mile. Not a 50 mph rolling start...

I know about 30% of the guys signed up. We are all a bunch of laid back guys doing this for fun. If you wanted to do a run to a certain speed, most of us wouldn't care and would do it. It's just fun to see what each car's strong and weak points are, and can help you make them better

Great attitude, wish more people I run into are like that. Seems like everyone makes excuses and talks ****, it's like you hurt their feelings or something if you beat them. So much ego going around. Let the driver and car do the talking lol. Just have fun with it and chill.

hey guys they just ran one of these events last saturday in PR, invitation only, no spectators. I wasn't part of it I just heard about it afterwards.
the top cars were 1000-ish whp GT-Rs that did 180mph in the 1/2 mile.

Most of us will be going off a roll and I not believe there will be any timing equipment there. So unfortunately, we won't be able to compare anything to any other event; just to the cars that are running besides us.
