Vipers: thanks for the update. I'm saddened to hear that Tamara isn't doing as well as we'd have hoped. I think it speaks NOVELS about her that she wants to be at Dave's funeral. The average person would surely hold hatred or disgust at a stranger who put her in a wheelchair but Tamara seems to be a much kinder soul. She is able to see past her current situation at the fact that Dave has left his family and friends at far too young of an age.

I am not a very religious person but may God foever bless you Tamara.

vipers: does Tamara have internet access at the hospital?

Listen, don't try to do all those die cuts like a pro. If you get bogged down just cut the pattern and then let us each take the extra material out of our own decal. It will kill you to do so many, it will be nothing for us to take 5 minutes and do our own.

just a thought

Did you ever think that maybe she swerved into his lane? Maybe she understands an accident?

Why do we all want to blame Dave so bad?

I don't think anyone is trying or wanting to blame Dave... it's just that an eye witness reported that Dave lost control of his FD, and crossed into her lane. The guy reported that Dave passed him at high rate of speed, and he saw Dave lose control... it doesn't really matter now. The thing is that one person is dead, and another is severly injured. This is not a discussion for this moment.

Here is the witness statement...

Hi to you all. I just wanted to give you the info I experienced first hand. My sons and I were traveling down the hill this a.m. The older white mazda was traveling at a high rate of speed. He passed us. Three to four seconds later he lost control and we witnessed him cross over and hit the female driver of the white saturn coupe. It was one of the worst things I have ever experienced. The driver of the mazda died at the scene. The female driver of the saturn was air lifted. My heart and prayers are with all of the family members on both sides. Please ask your friends and family members to slow down....

My brother (Turbo2FC3S) gave me a few sheets of decals so I can weed them while Im at work. We should have quite a few decals ready for everyone. I dont know how many speeddemon32 (sorry forgot your name) is making but Im sure between the three of us, we'll have a bunch. If needed, we can make more to hand out on the day of the carwash and the drive next week.

jhammons01, that would be easier on me, but if i give u the decals to weed it out yourself, you still wont be able to apply it because after that's done, you need to apply a transfer film over it. but i've been working on these non stop for a while now, i have 36 done (weeded them all out), i still have 8 more than i need to weed. my bro is helping me with about 20 more of them, he has a night job and sometimes gets slow, so he's gonna help me weed those. so by tomorrow we should have at least 60 done (30 white, 30 silver) and ready to apply the transfer film, woot woot!!! that said, i was wondering if 60 was going to be enough, if not let me know asap so i can get more done tomorrow. for those of you that are wondering what the decal will look like, check out the pic.

I was Dave's best friend and everybody needs to not blame anyone for this incident. It was out of his character for him to be driving out of control. There are other factors nobody knows about except close family and friends.

There is no lesson to be learned here. It's an accident between two people at the wrong place at the wrong time! Don't tarnish Dave's name as a reckless canyon runner. This just flat out pisses me off because it is not true. I would have to hit Dave with his cane to force him to drive the canyons with me. If you didn't know him personally, don't put your 2 cents in.

Just let it be and stop pointing fingers. All of the wonderful things Dave has done for others doesn't need to be forgotten. Those of us that have experienced his love and help for others know what I mean. I remember when the big Indian Ocean quake caused a title wave and wiped out Sri Lanka. Dave wanted to drop everything and go help, but got rejected by the Red Cross. This is the type of person he was, and I would like him to be remembered as such.

Bern, couldnt have said it better myself.

Rez311...... Great post!

Andy, cool decals! I have 51 decals cut and 3 weeded. :/ my goal tonight (after working on a friends RX-8 and taking the slicks off of my car to put the street tires back on for tommorrow) is to finish weeding the rest and transfer them all.

with yours and mine combined that would give us just over 100..... I think that is more then enough for the funeral. I still plan to make more if needed for the cruise, but for the funeral I think that will be plenty.

jhammons01, exactly what Turbo2FC3s said. if we gave you the decal and let you weed it out, that would help us out alot, but you still would not be able to put them on as there would be no transfer tape. (you would have to give it back, we would have to transfer it, THEN you could put it on.) but thank you for the offer, that was nice of you.
