I just posted in Lil Reds contribution thread that what ever moeny I get form the decals that I make I will give to him to give to the family. (any money I get is considered a donation to the family)

I will work as hard as I can to make them as nice as I can. I am very busy this week and next so dont get your hopes up. but I will TRY to make them nice.

 

well, i was just contacted by daves older sister, the funeral is this saturday in san bernardino.. so i say we make it for next saturday......

 

I agree with the idea of a carwash also...

 

for a car wash i guess we can have one at our shop but not untill sunday. would that be ok?

 

if i can get a tire on my Ducati before then i will see if i can get the day away from the shop to attend.

i dont know him personally like some of you do, but he has helped me on this forum and i would be honored to join everyone in a memorial drive.

 

Just a note: You should check in with highway patrol, especially if it's a 2 lane highway and everyone is planning on pulling over to the shoulder and worse people walking on the edge. You don't want to ruin this by receiving tickets, being told to leave or worse another accident.

It's hard to beleive this happened but even harder to beleive he didn't have a seat belt or air bags. I know at 9am it started to rain or rather drissle which could have caused the loss of control.

If it takes money to hire one or two police excorts to do this corretly, i'm sure everyone will contribute. Whomever is in charge of this, please make it safe and memorable. I'm shure he would appreciate it if everyone bought a dozen roses for the girl as well. I know he would appreciate us paying his respect and regrets for him to the lady (and family) that he had no intention of hurting.

goracer... very much agreed.... i wont have anyone pulled over on the highway.... we will find the nearest turnout and park there... then maybe 1 or 2 of us lay the memorial at the crash site....this will be a 100% speed limited memorial cruise!

the police escorts are a good idea, but im not really sure if they would allow it... but ill try to look into it...


and that is a great idea to get flowers for the other victim... i think we all lost site of the other party involved... and she is still with us (god willing she makes it through).... does anyone have any info on her? a name? i know she is at loma linda medical..

As Vipers said. this run will be 100% speed limited. I really dont want anyone that is going to blast through the mountains to attend. Lets pay our condolences in a respectfull manner.

The decals that I make up will be ditributed when we get to Pirate City Tattoo just before the run. I will bring squeegies so we can put them on real quick there.

I will give the left over decals (if any) to who ever is willing to disburse the rest of them. I know some poeple are wanting them that cant make it to the run or are out of state.

 

I think its great that you all want to honor Dave this way, I really do. But shouldnt we also consider it of equal, if not greater importance to honor the living? Not one person has mentioned how they will comfort this poor woman in her distress and its really shameful.

Wouldnt it be awesome for a bunch of Rx7's to pull up to the hospital, walk in with flowers and sincerely apologize to her and her family? What other car community could say they did that? Thats a community I want to be part of. Yes, Dave is gone and he will be missed but this woman is the victim here.

I wish I were still living in California cause Id be the first one in line to do this. Im trying to find her info and locate her.

he he anyways, yes there have been talks of exactly that. some people here are looking into getting her some flowers. I dont remember if it was talked about in this thread or talked about in the Donations thread. but yeah it is a great idea.
