QUOTE=Gen2n3;12380132]Hello fellow forum members!
Are you an active duty, retired member, or a veteran of the US Armed Forces or Canadian Forces? RX7Club is proud to recognize its members who served or continue to serve our nations' combat teams with a new addition to a member's tagline - a "Veteran" status banner. This rollout is perfectly timed with the upcoming Veteran's Day on November 11!
This is what each banner will look like (you may also notice it under my profile name too): Updated Veteran Banners for each recognized branch of service, effective 14 Apr 2021.
This banner is available for all forum members who serve(d) in the Canadian Forces, US Army, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, US Marine Corps, and US Navy. If you are on active duty, retired, or a veteran then please respond to this thread by requesting the appropriate service banner. Then, one of our Administrators or IB Staff members will add the usergroup to your profile.
An example to request the banner: "I would like to add the Navy Vet banner to my profile, please!" or "Army vet here."
You may also share a photo (in good taste - no Abu Ghraib or disparaging photos) and/or a short description of how long you served and what MOS/NEC/specialty you held. This is NOT a requirement to get the banner. It is just for bragging rights and learning something more about each other.
My thanks to all who served and all who continue to serve![/QUOTE]
Air Force, Army, and Navy Veteran Banners added to your respective profiles. My apologies for the delay as I don't recall any notice of new posts in this thread.
Thank you for sharing those photos - I dig the M16A2 and LCS-16. Most importantly, thank you for serving in the Army, Air Force, and Navy!
Army Veteran banner added. Thank you for serving in the Army!
Congratulations on crossing platforms to the Space Force in 2022. Let me know when that cross-over happens so I can update your banner.
I am a 5 year Marine Corps Veteran. I served in Beaufort SC at MCAS Beaufort SC in MALS 31 as a 6092 (structural mechanic), welder, tire mech, and painter. This picure was taking at MCAS Iwakuni Japan in the MALS 12 CCF shop where I was the NCOIC and only certified military painter with 9 Japanese civilians.
Got any Space force banners? I'll take airforce if not, transfered from the USAF to USSF Feb of this year. Been in since 2016 and still serving, currently as a sergeant(E-5) Satcom Technician.
The military is single handedly funding my FC project so I can't complain!
I am working on a Space Force banner but that will take some time to get approved. Please be patient with that endeavor. Meanwhile, I applied the Air Force Veteran Banner to your profile.
Thank you for serving in the Air Force and Space Force!

Thanks!
Dear JuicyFC.
I retired in 2000. There was only Space Command at the time, so no Space Force items. Interesting that you sent me a message at this time. I was just thinking of dragging all of my military history out of the crawl space and putting it on Craig's List! I have the Space Command badges, patches, and blue flight suits. There may even be some Space Command BDU's. Not space related, but I also have some stuff from my aircraft maintenance days. The military is funding your FC project? How does that work? Thanks for touching base!

That's super cool and thanks for your service! I always get a kick out of seeing all the heritage stuff they have around Peterson showing the origins of all their space operations and such.
I say the military is funding it since being single and enlisted means you get a good amount of disposable income to dump into project cars haha.
Air Force Veteran Banner added to your profile. Thanks for sharing the pic of the A-10 and ATV. I like the mock up work on the ATV. What was used to mimic the GAU-8 on the ATV's nose?
Just a peace of rolled steel with endcaps welded, and then aluminum tubing "barrels" and then just painted. its main paint and that "gun" was my project. Others painted the sharks teeth and eye onto the hood. It uses a out of spec decellerons bearing so it even spins, and some spring steel so it makes a loud click when it did. Entire thing had a bit of a story, tire went flat, someone stole it and put four new tires on it, we stole it back, because we still had the key and saw it at the shop with a really crappy rattle-can paint job on it, with our ID number still visible on the tailgate. We were then tasked to make it clearly ours, so what you see above is what we ended up doing so there was no way that it could be misidentified. This was all done at Bagram in 2005. My understanding it was picked up years later and might be at Moody now, but I have no idea its condition.
It became a thing where it then was requested for photo ops, so there might be a few people with some photos floating around.
