NSU ro80 pair of rotor housings

the chrome is very hard, even harder than the FD housing surfaces and is likely a hexavalent chrome plating process. superior but also the most toxic process.

i dont think he can replace chrome. i believe the process is just grinding the chrome back to a smooth and flat fresh surface again. with that large of a chunk missing, i would say that housing is worth whatever you can get at the recycle place.

you can still get over 100psi of compression from the engine with those wear lines with a cut of the surface. ideally no chipping if you want the best results but yes they can be cut down for better results than throwing it together as is.
it's getting quite tough to find S4 housings WITHOUT that amount of wear.
basically the lines will still be there, can't take them completely out otherwise you would have no sleeve left. BUT i've had decent results with similar housings and even ones that made those pale in comparison on nonexistent old school 13B housings.
still working on the NSU housings, need to find tougher cutting bits.

Karack, would you please take a look at my housings in the photos I posted in this post? I'm pretty sure these may be table material, but I want to know what you think. My apex seals and all three irons look really good, so it makes me think sand went through it somehow.
