Their site says "all oem patterns". In that case I would say it should support our rx8 trigger wheel. We'll download the software and check it out.

Cool,

Also whats the thickness is the bracket where the hex bolt attached it to the front cover?

Just asking as i have a side mount alternator and a spacer usually sits there, so i need it to know if my bracket will sit crooked or not..

cheers

Our front cover bracket is .385" thick or 9.78mm. I believe most side mount alternator kits use 10mm spacers, so it should be able to just replace them.

Link G4 will support 36-1/2, RX8 pattern, 60-2/4, and Hall sensor! Full compatibility!

Here is a pic of the Hall setup for those who were curious.

Sorry
Hey guys, I'm really interested in seeing you adapt something for the older style Haltechs and as I talk to someone there here's the reply that he sent me:

MMmmm.......

I spoke to one of the R&D guys who has some knowledge of the E6K hardware, he says
you may not be able to use a Motronic Trigger on a Rotary Engine. The only other Trigger
you can use is 2 magnets using a S3 Sensor (see Page 136 in the E6K manual) configured as
Standard Trigger.

Why is it that in the program and in the manual there are different style triggers that can be used, I can select the Motronic trigger even if I have it rotary setup. I've found a motronic setup with 60-1/2 setup. Thanks for your time...

We would love to be able to allow E6k/X and E8's to run our kits but there is a few problems:
1)The older ECU's have no software to allow the correct firing sequence for motronic wheels on a rotary.
2)Not all E6k's have the firmware update for Motronic support. Even when it does have the correct firmware it is limited in RPM (lack of processing power).

The issues are easily resolved via software/firmware updates but with all of the new products and considering the age of the older models Haltech will not support them. This means no updates which would allow correct firing sequence etc.
So for now this is a show stopper.
We're always open to new ideas but for now our hands are tied.
Thanks!
Jason

I still use my side alternator v belt drives too.

I know I keep bugging you guys about the e6k but, couldn't you make something like this with the S3 sensor, make your disc out of non-ferrous material and add 2 magnets to it like this:

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...8&d=1302789595
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1306456553

Btw these are not my pictures, I found this on the for sale forum, these belong to "RXTASY57"

The older haltechs dont support it plain and simple. Haltech is resilient enough to update their Platinum's to support 20b + rx8 trigger wheel. I highly doubt they will ever look at their old ECU's again. Especially the OLD e6x

Unfortunately thewird is correct. They have too much time/money in the new stuff to offer support for the old stuff.

I see. Well, I'm thinking about changing to a Link system anyways, never got the Haltech to work properly.. When is this offer over? I'm currently in the army (12 month mandatory service in Norway, pays like ****! ), but I want one of these in january. How much is shipping to Norway?

Thanks for the quick answers :-)

Yeah probably, but I think the G4 rx looks like a good alternative. And there is a company who sells and maps the Link systems not too far from me. Not too many with rotary experience in little Norway
