Sorry thought I posted that earlier. Getting them out before deals gap is our new goal. There is still quite alot of work to do, but if it looks like it's dragging on, we can always stop the "assembly line method" and build say 15 to completion so people have them for the drive. Now, figuring out a fair way to send out the earlier produced sets is the tricky part.

 

Well one way is who paid first. But I am a little biased for that solution as I was the first one to send payment.

i think that the fair for all the members is that you ship the lights on an per order basis based on the original list or make a list of the people payments.
is not fair for people that pay first to receive them later

They aren't yet. We're shipping the FC lights this week, and then we will resume work on the FD lights once we have the benchtop space. Sorry for the bad news... on the bright side, we'll do them in smaller chunks/batches as per everyones request. This will mean members early on the list will get them much sooner, though members later on the list will obviously get them later. Hopefully this is ok with everyone.

I feel that the method you and your associates should ship out the FD lights upon completion of each small batch should be based on who paid first, rather than who signed up first. I'm sure everyone wants the lights equally as much, but if you decide to ship them to members based on what order their name appears (1-34), I would be right at the end. However, I believe I was near the first to pay the full amount, or at least in in the middle.

I believe this is a reasonable and fair request.

I'm also wondering if it is fair to say that those that have kept their spot from the beginning deserve to move up the ladder as spots above them are sold, while the spots that are sold are moved to the bottom.

 

If we are going to change the way in which we are building and therefore delivering the lights, it really needs to be a democratic process, and furious_rotation brings up good points. My goal is to try to make as many people as possible happy, considering how the timing of this GB has dragged out so long. I don't mind building them in smaller (faster) batches, but we'd need to come up with a fair way of distributing them.

I would love to simply send them out on a "need" basis, though I'm positive if I say, do you absolutely need your lights, need them now, and cant wait... that everyone will jump on.... maybe not though.

I'll ask it this way... is there anyone out there in the first 10 or 15 spots, that would volunteer to wait longer?

 

As spot #16 is filled by me, and being one of the first to pay since the beginning I think it would be fair to go by who paid first as I think we've been waiting the longest.

I believe I was also one of the first to actually send funds. I believe that shipping in order of payment is the only equitable method.

 

First pay, first serve...
its the only democratic and fair way to do it, i don't think that some members need the lights urgent than others, we are all in the same position, if the forum member (XXXXX) pay first he should be the first as well on receive his lights.

Everyone is going to say that the method of them getting the lights the fastest is the fairest. It's not. Nothing is going to be fair to everyone. I think that there should be a vote. That way, one can't complain, because it was voted for. Anyone second this motion?
