Not at the moment. We have a few members interested in turbo systems, but they are all out of state/country.

subscribing.. please post some updates. I'd love to see how the 8374 compares to 9180.. Especially at moderate boost levels.. 15psi or so..

We have 7 in the works, and I will be personally tuning one on a car we are building. Here is a blog we just uploaded about the Internal Wastegate Housing( IWG) option.

So Elliot, what do you think about using one of the EFRs with an internal waste gate on a 20B?

I'm not sure it would be a good idea on 20b. Unfortunately the only size efr I would use would be the 9180 and its iwg housing is t3 frame. Furthermore the wg runners and 42mm valve might not be big enough to run less than 25psi. You would have to run the shaft speed sensor and run the compressor near its edge to reduce wg flow demands. However the t3 volute and a/r would surely restrict the engine on the top end. I would play it safe and run the t4 free float housings for a 20B.

Do you think the 9180 with a 1.05 AR and twin scroll external WG would spool quickly on a 20B? I know it can support the HP level of the 20B - I run between 12.5 PSI and 18 PSI on low and high boost - which for me is around 575 and 675 on a T78 Precision BB turbo. I've been looking at the BG EFR turbos for some time and originally felt the 8374 was the best fit, given I want quick spool and more usable HP. The 9180 keeps coming up in conversation though but I am concerned on how quickly it can spool. I am trying to decide on what would be best for street use and then about 6 track events each year.

The 8374 will do great for spool time, and low/midrange, but the top end will suffer, and don't expect to see more than 550 out of it.

That's no good then. What do you think the spool will be like with the 9180?

I would imagine 1 bar by 3800 rpm at the latest, but probably sooner than that depending upon the setup and tune.

I forgot about this thread. We have had many forum users complete their installation of our 8374 IWG FD3S turbo system.

Everyone has been blown away at the boost response and power output.

Unique Precision Rotary Made 400rwhp on pump gas at 10psi with one of their raceport engines. More information and pictures below.
