1) Put on your flame suit.
2) go to http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/

Note the complete kit is $1795 + labor + engine.

Believe me.... I promise that its a bit more involved than just finding the tach wire.... lol.... your putting a archaic engine from a different side of the planet in you car!! motor mounts are going to be the least of your issues.

I haven't done the v8 swap, because I have a moral line I will never cross. You can do what you want with your car, of course. Do a search for granny's speed shop and v8 RX-7 swap on google. They specialize in this particular monstrosity.

doing a V8 swap is:
a) harder than getting a 13b working
b) not cool

which is why you're on this sight with all these lovely rotorheads. be it a personal preference, it should be far easier installing a 13b.

This forum has some good guys on it, and there is a lot of RX-7 help here.
BUT...These guys have a secret rotor religion and you offend them greatly.
I have done several swaps and absolutely love the results.
Come over to
www.torquecentral.com
and don't get the roto-religious police after you.

chris: I probably could. Free car... I've got a 327 from a corvette sitting on my floor with transmission... that was free as well.... All I'd need to do is get some mounts and fab it all up. I bet I could do it for under $2,000

For $2000?? You're not serous right? the tires probably are $500. You could easily spend the rest just on rims. There wouldn't be any of the engine parts etc...

He's got a car with no engine. The engine alone would cost $2,000 (for a rebuilt N/A) and then is has no goodies. He'd still need an intake and accesories etc. Could go with a Jspec (only turbos available) but then need the ECU, knock sensor etc, Cars a N/A so wouldn't go with the N/A drive line.

Only way to recover this Rx-7 is to take another car and mix it together. The other car could be and Rx-7 or something else but it will be the only cost effective way to go.
