handles just as good, if not better. it drives really well, and is VERY fast. with only 350hp, it stayed within 2 cars of a 430rwhp turbo'd mustang. if i keep the car at all (maybe sold tomorrow morn) it will be painted high gloss black with a gold flake

The paint is as outrageous as that V 8 install, but won't 350 hp twist the body? And the car lives fast and dies young? Also an engine that big has to upset the balance and handling. You made an RX-7 into a Chevy Nova with a monster V 8.
Some like the 1/4 mile drag, and some like the turns.

The handeling you will not if it is better or not until it's put to a side by side comparison or a G pad test. Just like the pro's do it. There is really not that much weight added to the front and in some cases it balances out. Unless it is scaled you wont know for exactly sure.

The last I heard in order to regain the balance (This is if you use a 350C.I. Chevy i.e. Cast iron block) you had to add like a couple hundred pounds somewhere behind the rear axle. Dont ask for specifics, when I realized the power/Weight Ratio and the fact with boost a rotary can run 400+ HP I decided I didnt want a boat anchor in my car thats just me, In order to balance out the weight of a V-8 a recipricol engine will need at least 300+ HP to maintain performance to make this even worth trying. when you factor in cost and effort you might as well boost your car. If your doing it for the sound thats you.... but even if the motors all aluminum it still outweighs a rotary. Not hatin on your car just telling you my 2 cents

all aluminum blocks have actually been proven to weigh in less than stock 13b's, atleast in the case of FDs. it isnt really the weight thats important, its how and where it sits. a rotary beind balanced out further back keeps the car close to 50/50 where shoving a v8 in, 99% of the time is going to make it nose heavy.
i think if i ever go to a piston motor in a RX it will be a V6 turbo, less weight than a V8 and just as much power. i'd love to shove in a supra inline 6 but since the engine is so long instead of wide like a v6 it would probably offset the weight just as bad as a full blown V8

If I can ever get mine to the scales I will weigh it outto see what the weight balance is. As far as the handeling I would have to say a G-Pad still. I've also removed alot of weight adders in the engine that were there with rotary engine and I've moved some items to the center and rear balance weight. What is the weight of a rotary with all the A/C and Air pump and everything? And no I'm not trying to start any fights here.

Paint it the standard FB brown or beige (or even silver), hide the carburator without an ugly chevy hood scoop, put standard FB or good looking aftermarket wheels on it and figure out how to hook it up and you'll have one heck of a sleeper to make all of the ricers look bad.
