swaping in a 350 would be great, but geting it to mount up would cost more than a rebuild.

Hinson super cars

Steel Drive Shaft: $275
LSX V8 Cooling System Package: $630.00
LSX V8 Fuel System Package: $641.50

Because a 350 costs thousands of dollars for the motor and the swap. You need to control the new motor, fab up mounts, buy the motor and transmission and mate the transmission to the wheels.

200 - 400 HP is relatively easy.

If you want a 20B. Someone else can back this up or correct me, but I think something like $5k should bring you squarely in the 300-400 HP range with 1.3 liters. Another $1k-2k for suspension and you're golden, really.

Good. These cars were made for the twisties anyway.

Sorry, you can't beat the stupid out of people. Take the FC, do it up right and then go to an Auto-X and feel good.

Just to throw it out there,

Keep in mind that these cars are slowly getting rarer and rarer.

Keep it a Rotary.

Easier said than done. There just aren't any good TII's around here anymore. at least around where I live. In fact, I go months at a time without seeing another FC.

I think the 20B was 2.0L. I wouldn't do an LSx motor cause I'm not that RICH! I'll get pics over the break of the old rotary parts to see if anything is worth while. Keeping it rotarded would move the expected on road date up a couple of months though. What to do what to do? lol I look at the turbo swaps but eh maybe I'll just have to be slow and low, like some VW's. Time will tell I guess.

Alright I've got some pictures but I'm not sure I got enough aspects but hopefully I can post them up after work. I assume I can find info about pic size limits in a members must read first sticky. It looks like I should be able to build one good rotary out of these parts.

You know, there sure are alot of "Purists" in the "Other Engine Conversions" section. Could they be secretly contemplating moving to the dark side?? The Dark side is like a haunting presence that secretly draws them in, and then they post on a thread like this one to keep themselves "pure" and to let everyone else knnow that they are pure, while in reality, they are secretly being drawn into the black hole of v8 conversionism.......

It has happened before, it will happen again, purists drawn over by thoughts of 'Pure torque and incredible hp numbers combined with great handleing.... Time will tell........

Dude, I like your thinking. Try out the rotary, and if it works for you up to your expectations, great!! If not..................................... THE DARK SIDE beckons.....

[Eerie ghost like laughter] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Later,
Bill

It seems like the ticket. Get the car moving with the rotary,do some suspension work, then when i have $5k to spend on a swap, DO IT! I mean well if I want to go to the dark sidem time will tell. I dont know if those rotary parts are worth rebuilding with or not though.

LS1 is not the only engine that chevy makes that will fit into an FC. LT1s fit, and even just old school chevy 350s fit. Or if u want to drop back to v6, 4.3 goes in nicely and have a good platform for power. The older/smaller motors will save you some money on the swap.

Personally, I'm a v8 swap guy...but like the rest have said...its up to you.

I'm aware other motors fit. I've been lurking torquecentral and other places. But right now the V8 is more or less out of question, unless I win the lottery and then I'm not sure I would bother with the Rx-7. Maybe do a nut and bolt resortation LOL. Bah so many dicisions it reminds me of picking a major, **** I haven't even done that yet. FTW!
