v-8 ???s
ok im going to be puting a v8 chevy 350 in my 88 rx and i was wondering what kind of springs and shocks to use and if my rear end and brakes would hold up. how good of traction i would be geting i plan on going witha 700r4 tranny with a edelbrock performer rpm intake mainfold and cam and a 600 carb.
only give me helpful information i dont want to here about how i shouldnt put a v8 in a rotory its just annoying
(this will be my daily driver.)

Assuming you are talking about a 350, and not one of those more expensive aluminum motors, the Chev is certainly the easiest because so much stuff is available, and the tranny you have chosen is easy to calibrate - any good tranny shop can set it up for you. The automatic is definitely the way to go. Based on my experience, I would recommend NO SHIFT KIT until you have driven it. It is easy to remove the valve body with the tranny in the car and put in the shift kit after you understand where you want the shift points, etc.
I went with the Ford because it is 75 pounds lighter, but mine is a 1st gen. In your car the weight is less of a concern. It is most likely your stock springs will be just fine for a daily driver.
I would strongly recommend you get it running with no suspension mods and see how you like it. Just make sure you have good shocks and good tires. Then if you start making mods you will better understand what they are doing for you.

If you have a Turbo model your rear should hold up just fine, especially with a mild motor that will be daily driven. If you have a non-turbo, consider swapping the rear for a Turbo LSD rear. Traction will be marginal but fun and exciting
You'll probably want to upgrade to a stiffer spring at least in the front - iron motors willo weigh more than your rotary but it's really not bad. If you want to autocross you'll have to spend some time setting it up for the extra weight - for just street driving, you'll be fine with what you have.
Click the link in my sig, there's a pic of my 86 RX7 on my main page - you'll see what you have to do to the hood to run a Performer RPM manifold
