Ok first off, LS1 swap is gunna take some greenbacks to accomplish CORRECTLY but, best place to ask is grannyspeed.com as they specialize in v8 RX7 swaps as for trans best bet is one from a camaro or vette and remember for the most part all gm parts are interchangeable as for rear get a corprate 12bolt with a posi-trac just can't really go wrong there. I hope this Helps but I must inquire why not keep it rotary? If it's lack of knowlege or experience don't be frightened away that's why we're here. . . .

+1 On Granny Speed Shop. Dealt with them for several brackets and their 8.8" rear. Fantastic service everytime and always willing to answer questions.

Also +1 @PK 12A: Never had a problem posting on this forum, so ask away! Its not entirely "flame proof" but its damn close haha :P

thanks for the feedback.

i believe the vettes tranny bolts up in the rear so it doesn't actually bolt directly to the block, and as for keeping it rotary it will be for a while, i got a wife and a new baby so it'll be a project i'll have to piece together, i have the block for now and i'll piece together the rest of the powertrain over time. but my grandpa also put a new rotary engine in a while back i think it's got like 6k miles on it. i just want some power, cheaper ideas would be appreciated as well, i work at a shop and a couple of my buddies would be helping me with everything.

Psssst!!! hey you, yeah you over there, with the thread, come here...
(there's no such thing as a 5.3 LS1)

And yes you want a t56 and a 8.8 rear.

explorer rear, and probably camaro for the tranny. Been covered many times, but you'll have to leave the site to get sourcing info for your drivetrain.

Well gm has an ls1 at a 4.8 and a 5.3 in the silverados and the sierras if I want I can bore the cylinders out to a 5.7 but it the motor out my old silverado.

The rotary engine I have has like 6k if anyone has some insight about how to give that more power that be appreciated it's the 12a

If it's 5.3L it's not an LS1. LS1s are 5.7L. Yours is a Vortec 5300. Similar, but not the same thing, just like a 12A and a 13B are similar but not the same thing.

lol, I was waiting for a post like that. Nopistons would be a better choice to go for advice on swapping the beautiful heart and soul of what makes rx7s so different and great.

If all you know are rotaries you are LAME. Expand your horizons, evolve or die. I have a twin, 3 cylinder, 4 cylinder, v6, I6, and a 2 rotor. And I'm familiar with more engines than that. Get out and learn something.

Well if u guys read the whole post you would have read that I asked for suggestions on giving the 12a more power as well. When it comes down to it I just like fast cars. Ls1 in a car that weighs close to nothing would be fast. But if you have suggestions on ways to get the results I'm looking for in the 12a then you have my attention.

that wasn't necessarily directed at you. Your 5300 makes 280-300hp. There are quite a few people rolling around on turbo 12a's with more than that, but you'll just have to troll the forum to learn how, that's alot of info
