Price of an LS1 FC?
Hey guys, (I'm not really sure what board to post this in, so mods move it if need be) I'm looking into buying either an FC and then in turn doing the old tried and true LS1 swap, or buying one that's already swapped.. My question is, I'm sure buying one already swapped is more cost effective, but how much should I be expecting to pay for this? And if I buy an FC and do the swap, approximately how empty will my pocket be? Thanks for the help, fellas! And if you know of one for sale within reasonable (~500 or less) distance of NOVA, pm me!

I really hope this doesn't turn into yet another "why would you defile a 7 w/ a V8" posting frenzy. The question was, how much would an LS1 FC cost. For an extensive answer, SEARCH on www.torquecentral.com -its a really good source for V8 rx7 info.
In short, it depends on auto or manual. For an LS1 with a T-56 (6spd m trans.) it will cost you ~$4000 (typically $4500). Either purchase a good condition roller for roughly 2k (good supsension setup, brakes, and decent int./ext.) or buy one and sell the rotary to cut some of the cost. It'll cost you roughly 10k total to do a pretty clean swap. You could buy a clean LS1 FC for probablly $8k or so.
p.s. This topic has been beaten to death, the LS1 is an aluminum block, very lightweight, there is no real downside to the swap. Sure, the rotary is "what makes the 7 what is". There are others who could care less. If he wants an LS1 FC, so be it.

yeah if youre lucky and do a lot of the swap yourself, you can have a nicely built, clean looking, smooth running LS1FC for under 8 grand total.

We have been building a 305 700R4 FC vert converted to holly down draft. We will be selling it for $6.3k.
Finishing up the body work now for paint.
We have another FC that is getting a built internal small block 400 with power glide tranny.
Slow Rotor - umm no they retain at worst a 48 52 weight distribution, thats enough to surpass your driving skills to ever notice.
