LT1 in a FB help
Hello everyone.
I recently purchased a FB and while the engine runs, there are some major problems. To get it to run right, I would need to send the housings out to be chromed and I would need to replace all the seals. By the time I essentially rebuild the engine, I figure I could swap in V8 and call it done.
I recently found a LT1 engine for a decent price. I could have a running engine, ECU, wiring harness, and everything in between for 500 bucks shipped to my door.
The problems start with the transmission. It does not come with one. So I was going to first ask if there were a particular transmission that people like to get, or if there is a fancy way to use my current transmission?
My second question is that I know I need some engine and transmission mounts. I hear that a lot of people buy them from granny speed shop. The problem is that there are so many different kits that I am not entirely sure of what I really need.
It would also be helpful if someone could give me a general idea of what other parts I will need to get the job done.
Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.
