Smile LS1 to a T-5 Tranny

Will a T-5 tranny bolt up and work correctly to a LS engine. I just don`t have the funds to buy a good T-56 right now. can always do it in a year or two.

First off there was never a T5 that bolted to an LS style block. With the t56 there are different years and bellhousing can be swapped between them but the t5 was only used on SBCs well before the LS came out. If there are adapters available I'm sure they will break your budget.

I literally just bolted a t5 to my ls. 99 chevy blazer 2wd manual transmission. Have to get a truck 10 spline clutch (4.8l silverado clutch). The 4.8l manual is a nv4500

Look at my last post.

Any transmission that will bolt to an old small-block chevy will physically bolt to any LSx engine minus one bolt that does not line up. You just need to find the correct flexplate/flywheel setup to make the transmission work...

I just went thru all this with my rx7 ls build, you can check it out here. also check out a no hate zone at norotors.com

sbc to ls1 fc rx7 - 502StreetScene

http://www.howeracing.com/p-7754-imp...ck-clutch.aspx

LS series T5 installation parts list:

Chevy world class t5 from a Camaro (90)
Bellhousing casting number 3899621
Stock LS1 or LS6 flywheel, pressure plate and clutch
Pilot bearing GM part #12557583
Howe racing hydraulic throwout bearing #82870
2 short hard lines to get you out the bellhousing.
3/4" or 7/8" master cylinder
fork (pioneer PN# CF100, GM 340278 & 14066235)

but seriously save your money and get a t56 and ls7 clutch and be happy, never worry about blowing the weakass t5 and be happy (ask me how i know)

It'll work (from what others say), but don't beat on it, the T5 isn't super strong and you can tear it up.

V8 roadsters sells a bellhousing for this. They were trying to get a series going for Miatas with L33's mated to t5s.

Never buy from Granny's. Search norotor's or just around if you'd like to know why.
