Exclamation LS1 swaps?

i cant decided weahter or not to do another rotary swap for my rx7, or to go with a 350 crate engine, or a LS1??

does anyone have any LS1 swap pics?

advice?

i really like the LS1's for all the BHP they have, but i want to keep the JDM vibe.

and im tired of rotary engines. its too much work for not enough HP.

help!

and i want to keep the price under 1500

i got a small block chevy v8 swap kit for sale! [/shameless plug]

sr20 would be a nice swap too, hopefully wouldnt upset weight balance too much either being all aluminum.

i'm just going to sit back and wait for the flames now. i can feel them coming.

You can barely get a T56 for $1,500.

Chevy 350 is a great way. U can find a motor anywhere. Also check out Grannyspeedshop.com They do V6 and V8 swaps for all generation RX7s

Falken had an SR20 FD on their drift team I believe. There's more SR20 FC's than you would think..... just that nobody ever talks about the swap so there is no information at all.

Any Chevy V8 > (any 4cyl including sr20)

reason: the economy of displacement

for the record nothing but a rotary engine will ever grace the engine bay of my Rx7.

Sorry, not a big fan of the "Let's just dump a big V8 in there" bandwagon. It just doesn't seem like a "good" swap. The SR fits much more in with the balanced FC chassis. The SR is the 13B's evil twin from the piston world.... plus, 500+ whp out of 2 liters never hurts.

You may as well look in the "other engine" area of the forum or go directly to http://www.v8rx7forum.com/.
This is gonna get moved there soon anyway.

here are my options.

a rebuilt 13b with a badass turbo setup = 2,000+

a chevy 350 with bolt ons making 400 hp or more. = 1,800+

a ls1 with some power adder (turbo, supercharger, nitrious) = 2,800+

what do yall think?

The Ford Model T engine has much more displacement than an sr20 or f20c. It puts out 20 HP and gets 13-17mpg. When I think of economy I think of getting more power out of a smaller engine, or more mpg for a given amount of power, but maybe that's just me. Some engines are just more technologically advanced.

Why are you tired of rotary engines? Have you done tons, and tons of work on them?

Sorry, I have to chuckle at those cost estimates. This isn't 1964..
