Looking for LS1/FB info

I've searched here and on torque central and come up with little to no information on the swap. I have friends that can do the wiring and any welding that needs to be done, but I need some info. If someone could give me the proper search terms or point me in the right direction,I'd be grateful.

I don't think anyone has done an FB/LS1 swap yet. I do know you can buy LS1 adapter plates to bolt one in where a standard small block Chevy sits. I think Street and Performance makes some, and I believe Granny's offers some. I think Granny's offers parts for a Chevy in an FB, so using adapters it should be pretty simple. Most of the wiring info is the same regardless of which car you're using, so FC and FD threads on torquecentral will help you. One thing I used for my FD was a LIM box from www.bakerelectronix.com (basically a board with a bunhc of relays and connectors, it simplifies the wiring connections - it's labeled on one end with motor connections and the other with car connections. Worth looking into).

I might just go the FC route. I know a guy with a shell who is selling for $400,so it might just be a better idea to go that way.

even with the adapter plate. you still have to sort out wiring... FC and FDs have wiring kits already made so you dont have to go through that type of nightmare... Tim, Im telling you go find a FC shell, slap a TII rear end, give Hinsonsupercars a call and order all there ****... give me a call and we can start on it next week end

$400 isn't bad for a shell if it's nice. I just picked up two more FC shells last weekend for $200

As for wiring kits being "already made" don't take that too literally. There IS information out there (most of it on Torquecentral) but nobody produces a plug and play wiring kit. You can pay to have your harness modified, but unless you use Speartech you're not going to have it labeled and with instructions, as far as what I've read (which is considerable - I've done an FC / small block Chevy swap and an FD / LS1 swap).

My suggestion is spend some time looking at ALL the threads in the V8RX7 section over there and get as much info as you can. Searching helps, but I've come across a LOT of useful info. I think I've subscribed to over 100 threads, each with something interesting and helpful.
