Harness trimming

I have an 84 GS that I am working on getting a 327 into, and have been trimming the harness from what I can find on granny’s. I’ve found the wiring guide to be fairly vague so I’m a bit stumped. Do I need a single thing off of any of the emissions control connections? I’m wanting to maintain my lights and signals as well as what I can from my dash cluster. Any pointers are appreciated!

Nothing you really need in the rotary engine harness which runs up the right side of the engine compartment, except maybe the alternator wires. You can un-plug/remove that entire harness from connector X-07, a flat 2 row 21 pin connector located in back of the right strut tower.

The lights/signals/etc are all in the front harness, which runs up the left side of the engine compartment and across the front.

Awesome, I had a question about the x-11 CPU harness, could I eliminate all of that harness or should I leave it connected for any purpose whatsoever? My wires are all pretty well kept so I’m unopposed to reusing some here and there. Thanks!

I'd keep the X-11 and CPU, lots of lighting, flasher, and wiper functions controlled by that CPU.
