84-85 dash in 82

I have picked up an 84 dash originally planned to install it in my 82. Anyone attempted this? Any problems with using the 82 wiring harness? Are there any guides available?

Have listed the 84 das here but no takers, was going to go to the 82-83 style but mine is in bad shape, crackes all over and the 84 is prefect just don't know ho extensive the wiring change would be.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

the main issues you'll face are that the 82 harness is not compatible with the 84's cluster, stereo or heater controls. for manual controls, you must swap in the entire heating control assembly from an 84 and use an 84 harness dash and emissions harness. its an extremely lenghty swap. it would be eaiser to buy an 84.

yes Greg and I did this last year. we swapped the wiring harness so we could have all the wires for electric windows and such. it took us a while and yes it was a pain in the ***.
