http://www.torquecentral.com V8RX7 section you can learn a ton about the conversion. Spend a few hours using the search button before asking all the questions of the day.
Mine started out as an automatic which as the desirable 3:90 gears for this conversion. You swap out the pedal assembly, remove the blockoff plate in the firewall to install a larger clutch master cylinder, buy an LS1 engine/trans mounting kit, make your own cooling and fuel systems (or buy them already made $$$), and then do the exhaust system and wiring and you are ready to drive. It isn't that easy but you get the idea.
My conversion has around 20K miles on it, makes 440rwhp on 91 octane, runs low 11's at nearly 128mph n/a, and kicks butt on the road course. Daily driven and provides 20mpg+ driving like I stole it. You will love it!
