That's crazy. Phil (organizer) has invited v8's many times before and its us that fail to show. There are several already who have said they would come, myself included.
I think they'll have more this year than any other so PLEASE attend!!

I forgot to add this bad boy to the thread when i got it a few weeks ago.

3 QT accusump with EPC valve

Then I made a little progress over spring break...

My dad welding the samberg brackets to my rear subframe.

Samberg modified diff cover

And the test fit.

Everything fits perfect. I plan to eventually run a diff cooler in the future so I ordered some fittings for the diff cover. I just got them in and as soon as I have them welded on I'll finally be able to seal the diff, throw it all back under the car, install my ds, axles/hub assemblies, suspension, and set the car down on it's new shoes.

Few small updates.

CJ motorsports double pumper setup. With a new DW300 fuel pump. I will be running a single pump for the time being. Whenever I decide run nitrous I'll throw another pump in there and "T" them outside the tank.

And my remodified diff cover. It now has two male -8 ports. The top one will be as the new fill hole and the bottom will be my drain hole. Whenever I'm ready to add a diff cooler These holes will be used for the return/feed ports to my diff pump. Also I welded a 1/4 in npt female hole to add a temp sensor.

That's all for today. More updates should be ready this week.

Cyan, wow you have come quite a ways since I last checked into this thread!! Everything is looking really good man. Congrats on the progress! Next time I visit OK maybe you will have this bad boy back together and I can come and see it. Oh, and I have to thank you once again for helping convince me to have Brian do the HBP. I love it. Every time I start the car I cannot help but smile.

Thanks Noah! It's been a fun and interesting project. If you plan on coming down during/after summer I should be up and running ( I hope ) The main thing I'm waiting on is my modified harnesses and ECU. Once Those come back I can really start to piece this thing back together. Untill then, I'm stuck doing small tedious things that are hard to work up the motivation for. I'm glad youre happy with your HBP, I can't wait to hear it. I really miss the sound. Stay tuned man this build will hopefully have some good updates in the very near future.

Yeah, it could be late fall (November) before I make it back up there. Man do I understand that, one piece that holds up lots of other things getting done. Your car really is coming together nicely. That is some very quality work you are doing there! Keep it up.

Lookin' good dude. You're doing a lot of preventative maint with that rear end. I should have done that but kinda ran out of money ATM I'll see what it takes to blow up the stock rear I got, but will be taking it easy for now. Accusump is sweet. You plan on tracking this sucker?

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Noah, Just het me up when you find out you'll be in town and we'll get together and catch up.

md, My origional plan (when I still had the stock diff installed) was to do like you and just take it easy. Then I realized once this thing is dialed in with all the kinks worked out, the last thing I'll wanna do is take it easy lol. I'd hate to get it running only to snap an axle or grenade the rear the first time I try to launch the car. The peice of mind alone is worth the time and $. I'm sure you'll feel the dame when you build yours up.

And do I plan to track the car...?

Most deffinately! Actually a large number of mods that i've installed durring this build are geared more for track use including:
accusump
oil cooler
atomic rex rack
new suspension/bushings
275s up front
diff cooler prep
oil pan baffle, as well as upgraded oil pump, and oil drain back mods

When completed I hope to lay down some respectable lap times at my local track (Hallet)/mount up some slicks and get booted from the local drag strip (TRP) for running to fast without a cage/ and suprise a few unsuspecting people on the street.

I'm also about 95% done with the fuel system. Just need a few small things. And I also have some updates on my Accusump system. I ran into fitment issues with the mocal
piece so I returned it for a remote thermo and one of these

I still need to get a few more fittings and I'll be ready to tie this loose end up. I'll post pics when it's done.

The big hold up right now is my wiring harness and as soon as mr. Pez finishes working his magic I can start installing my interior.

I really need to get cracking on my battery relocation (from bin to trunk) so when I hook up my harness I can make sure everything works.

I set the car on the ground with the new shoes and suspendion for the first time...

The rear will need a to be rolled and pulled but I knew that when I purchased my wheel/tire setup.

Front looks like it will fit nicely

I just installed the coilovers as they came out of the box and it looks like the rear will need to go down a bit and the front needs to come up. Ground clearance doesn't look like it will be much of an issue at all.

I'll have some better updates as soon as I get off my tail and do work. But finals are once again arround the corner making car time hard to come by.

How much did it cost you to reupolster the seats if you dont mind me asking?

Also, ironically, my roommate has the PRJCT-D AE86 in Nor-Cal... (on left obviously, the one on the right is my old 86, before I traded it for my FD)

I picked the covers up on eBay for about $230 iirc. They normally go for $400. And sense I did them myself l didn't have to pay for any labor. It was a pita though.

And clean 86's. Initial D was the inspiratiion for my forum screen names several years ago and it just kinda stuck lol.

Small progress.
As stated before my rear tires bulge out a little from the body so today I spent a few hours rolling/pulling my fender to try and tuck the tire.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I will most likely tweak the shape a little more when it's time to start the bodywork.

Love the new shoes! Yeah, I agree with the front end needing to come up a bit. Mine was that low with a similar offset and one day I did a little more than a crawl back into the driveway and the tire caught on the fender... Chipped the paint... I raised the car up a little and everything is good now.

Oh, and have you seen what could happen to your FD now that you put the LS in it? https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/fd-launches-into-water-captree-953402/ I hope yours does not decide to commit suicide.

Thanks guys!
Noah- what is your ride hight from the ground to the top of the arch in your fender well front and back?

Barban- wheels setup is 18x10 +25 with 275/35/18 on all four corners.

Brad- I've got high hopes for the DW, I keep hearing nothing but great things about them. And the fact that they are in my own back yard is a nice bonus lol.

I am 26" front and 26.5" rear. Wheels are 18x9.5 +38 with 245's up front and 265's out back.

My problem occured when I cut the wheel hard and pulled into the drive too quickly. I measured it then and I am pretty sure it was around 25.5". But this incident also made me worry when I track the car and the suspension compresses I need to make sure I have enough clearance through corners.

I plan on doing FEED fenders all the way around later on this year so maybe then I can cut another .25" of ride height on both front and rear. Have you thought about that? maybe some burnout style fenders to keep the clean look with the new color? You know you are eventually going to want some 315's on those rims anyways...

I'm currently running Shine's origional OEM style wide fenders which are 20-25mm wider than stock (can't remember exact amount). I'm also running stage III trak pros with a 12k spring up front so I "SHOULD" be ok and not have to worry about rubbing on or off track provided my ride hight it set up right.

315s would be awesome but one of my goals for the car are to keep it as balanced as possible and one way i'm trying to achieve this is to run the same size tire all arround to maintain nuetral steering. My next set of tires will likely be 285's , then after that I may choose a wider tire in the rear and see how I like a staggered setup.

Good looking work.

Just for reference, I got the same covers for my seat and they came out just as good.

Sweet! I didn't know you had wide fenders up front. Yeah, my stance coilovers are also 12k springs all around, but with those fenders you should be pretty safe with around a 25.75-26" ride height. I REALLY like the pull you did to the rears, looks great!

I got some JDM type "R" valve covers and intake cover. And to be honest I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I'll leave it for now and see if it grows on me....
