So today was pretty exciting! I finnished getting the car prepped and was finally able to lay down some paint. It's far from an experienced pro's job but I'm happy with the results of my first attempt at painting.

Paint...

and clear...

I planned on leaving the bay a solid 2 stage white and doing to exterior in 3 stage pearl like the suby I posted earlier. But I'm digging the 2 stage look without the pearl in it a LOT. I'm very close to ditching the pearl alltogether and just painting the whole car like the bay. I've got some time to think it over so we'll see.

Looks like I "should" be able to drop the engine and tranny in sometime next week.

Thanks for the props guys. Yes I'm doing all the paint and body work myself. I agree with the simple things being overlooked. I took some more pics but the net is down at my house right now so I'm stuck posting on my phone. I got my vette stands and biscuit mounts earlier last week as well as my tranny mount

I also got my samberg subframe installed today. The only things I need to install the motor is a line from my master to slave and to install my clutch and see if I need to shim my slave.

^Thanks man,I got some more pics up of the paint.

These kinda show the difference between the colors w/ and w/o pearl.

For the lip I cut it very close to the firewall for the middle 9 inches, the trimmed all but a little the rest of the way out.

Then some more random shots.

And a shot of my vette stands and mounts.

OK. it's been a busy couple weeks for me. And I have pics to share.
Here is the bay with my AR manual rack.

And this afternoon I finally placed my motor in the car

Plenty of clearance above my steering rack.

Don't mind the front tires being backwards, I just through them on to move the car arround.

Thanks guys. Noah I sent you an e-mail with the base map I ran on my HBP. I'm not sure If it will be different than yours though sence I got mine from Brian as well. There has been a couple things that I wanted to call you for help with but I've only been messing with the car about 20-30 minutes at a time during this brutal heat and I'd hate to waste your time for a few minutes of wrenching.

rob
We are both in the Tulsa area but I'm actually a bit closer to you. I live in Collinsville off HW20/116th st. Congrats on the FD purchase. Is the rotary still installed and running? Good luck with the swap, good to see another one so close by.

Great looking build ! Glad I was able to hook you up with the fuel pump tree and though I used a Supra pump, I agree that the Bosch 044 is the pump for you. Also, I like the Pearl better than plain white. Keep those pics coming.

no worries man. Thanks again for that map. I loaded it up the other day after looking through the igt and igl matrix and everything is a lot smoother. I may still try and mess with em even more but I am just ready to get some miles on this thing so I can get it down to brian and tune it for boost. It is cooling off a bit more now so just gimme a call if you need a hand. Like I said, I need to get some miles on the FD anyways...

Rob, good to know there is another FD around. Yeah I am a bit south of you in Jenks. I grew up in Owasso and I am up there every once in a while.

Thanx Joe,

The drivestrain and suspension are about 90% complete. I just need to bolt in my diff brace, driveshaft, and rear shocks.

Noah. I'm glad the map helped. I might not be doing much but you're welcome to come by and check the car out whenever you wanna head this way. I need to hear that motor of yours anyway.

Yeah, I would love to see it in person. Next time I head that direction I will give you a call. I sadly only have 100mi on the new motor. No time to drive and now college football has begun...

Wow ,I'm suprised at how little you've driven your new setup.

Anywho, I've ordered some new parts and they have started coming in. I'll get some pix when everything shows up.

As promised...

Time for some much anticipated progress

Over the past several weeks I've been collecting part sand doing small things here and there
Updates include:
new waterpump
new intake mani
NW 90mm cable throttle body
cleaned/installed my ls2 coils
finnished installing rear diff brace PITA
intalled new driveshaft

Then today I received my SRC V2 radiator/intake combo with ls7 style maf, and howe expansion tank.
The packaging of the radiator was suprisingly subpar but thankfully everything arrived undamaged. IMHO the quality of this whole assembly is way ahead of the competition. Thanks again for putting out such a high quality product Justin. Hopefully I can get this beauty installed before next weekend with some new pix. Until then, this will have to do.
